He still has the good idea of having a fused jumper with eyelets and couple wing nuts in a trail bag in case one of the fuse array legs blows as a temp patch until a new fuse array can be sourced and installed.
I made one up after I read the thread on it I think in 2020-2021 and have it in glove box.

😬How bout those Blue Jays?!
Damn that escalated quickly. 🤭 Where I live there is families who split up and some go the jail or prison over football. 🙄

You can’t escape connectors that have pins. It isn’t just the fuse box removal. Removing the doors or doing some connector maintenance and cleaning on the TCM, FAD, ECM, PCM etc etc to the other dozen or so connectors with pins…if you take them apart, spray an electrical cleaner/pin lubricant like DeoxIT on them before mating them back together. It’ll make those pins find their holes a whole lot better with less effort.

I'm not sure of the exact sequence, but I think the stop button gets pushed before the transmission is shifted to park, which puts the ignition in accessory mode. Then the shifter light flashes to remind the driver to shift to park, which they do and exit the vehicle not realizing they are still in accessory mode and that causes batteries run down.
I almost laughed out loud today as I was the passenger in my wife's Jeep, and she pulled up in a parking lot, tires touched the curb (she HATES that) and she put it in reverse to let it back from the curb 1/2" and then being so used to that action meaning it was in park, she hit the button to shut it off!
Pretty much exactly as you described.
She did put it in park, hit the button again and so on, but I totally remembered your possible cause above when it happened.

Would have loved to been a fly sitting in there when that happened. Are you still allowed to be a passenger in her vehicle?

It's about the only time I get to be inside it - unless I drive it to wash it, fuel it up, whatever.

I know i can't get away from connectors. I just don't like the design on it. If it was done better it would not have been able to bend a pin. I think it needs a better way to line them up before they can make contract and get bent.

My kiddo (who works at local dealer) says that he sees the pin issue quite often when customers try to do the aux battery themselves. Tho I hear him talking about bent pins ALL the time and all over the Jeep lineup in general.

I started having battery issues again last week and again dead aux battery. Its around 2 yrs old.
Today we removed the aux battery and routed the aux battery cables back to the main battery. Easiy job because its diesel and dont have to mess around this the fusebox. This will keep the existing PCR system wiring the same. We have chatted with techs around the shop and everybody agrees this should be fine.

if im reading this right, the aux delete can be done two ways?
1. connect aux positive to main and tape (or remove) aux negative

2. The jumper option from N1 to N2 so no aux positive cable is needed on the main and tape (or remove) aux negative.

Removing the aux battery is completely up to the owner. It can be left in but its extra weight at the same time.

You don't need to use a jumper at all if doing the "delete". You can simply pull the aux negative from the IBS and pull F42.
That's it.
Only time to do cable moves is if removing the aux battery. Then you could simply tape up the leads down there. The moving of cables is not needed nor is the jumper
