Hi Rick,

Removing the 1 guide pin will not affect your warranty. I put my stamp on it :like:
Thinks I had a e-mail from Brandy on this. I know problems with new products, never thought the rear bumpers would be different. If I am as happy with these as I am with my headlights and fogs, I will be a happy camper.

Received my harness today after it originally not being included with the reverse lights. As others have mentioned the wiring going to the passenger side was WAY too short. I tried to route the harness as other did with no success. About a foot too short to connect, not a way I’d route it. Shout be a couple feet longer to allow proper routing. I ended up cutting and expending the passenger side. Ideally, they would’ve taken the extra time to figure the idea length based on being able to zip tie to existing body harnesses with some slack. Or, better yet, they would have made independent harnesses for both drivers and passenger side with a single harness for each rear seat lights. I’m sure customers would have been willing to pay more for it to be done the “right way” just my two cents but what do I know.

pic, just because.

I had to do the same. Can’t even use the waterproof connectors for the t taps. Really no excuse not to have enough wiring for several different routing configs, especially if the install video doesn’t mention a preferred route.

I might sound disgruntled, but this is amateur stuff coming from an established vendor, it’s not some kickstarter. There are certain competitors that have their bases covered far better. Even if oracle is offering a cheaper product, it’s not getting you anything if it can’t be installed correctly.

All done, used a Curt # 56584 trailer T-harness to get a reverse light and ground circuits without having to tap into any OEM wires. No modifications were necessary to mount to my Rubicon rear bumper.

I know everyone is saying it’s short but some people are able to get it done and others are not I wonder why that is.

I looked up that CURT part number. Is it a t harness that plugs into the back of the bumper? I’m assuming it gets you left and right turn signal wires. Is this correct? If that’s the case, I would have much rather had this then oracles harness, even for the added cost.

Side note, can’t get the jeep on, in reverse, with ebrake on and get out of jeep to see what they look like on at night, shifter blinks and the lights don’t turn on, lol.

Try something to hold the brake pedal down. I use two of the plastic ammo boxes from Harbor Freight. They wedge in and hold it down. You might also need to buckle the seat belt while doing it.

Buckle the seatbelt behind your back, put the transfer case in neutral, set the parking brake, with the engine running put the transmission in reverse, get out and view the lights.

The old style trailer plug (except 5-pin instead of 4-pin) has the circuits: ground, right signal light, left signal light, tail light, and reverse light. The right signal light and left signal light circuits are also the right and left brake lights. I had a DIY aux. reverse lights already that I used the CURT harness to wire it with. I replaced my DIY with the ORACLE kit today.

Installed mine on the Mojave took about an hour and I agree about the cord it needs to be 1-2 inches longer to give you a little more play and I did route it through the correct holes. Will need to put some tubing on the wires that go through the hole as I would worry about chafing over time.
