Mine worked right out of the gate - and still work. Was backing out of a dark parking lot last night and really appreciated the extra white light to see back there. Mine is a 2020 Overland with LED lighting.
These literally worked right away for me.
Their support is quite good - check with them.........

I am a huge fan of more is better when it comes to lighting

so I would choose A

however ...... not sure if production cost is relevant, but you could make both.

The decision was already made....... long ago........
.....Likely at least in part because it's not legal to run with no rear reflectors. They are required.

With the setup they went with, the light is almost blinding. So bright some of us are either considering or have already rigged ways that they aren't active every single time you put it in reverse. I've blinded people with mine when backing out of parking spots. My lights now shine through the car behind me to the car behind them.
I light up the entire length of my garage - over 40' worth, bright enough to read in with mine.

Hey… has anyone gotten these silly things to work ??
21 JTR, halogen lights, PnP harness .
Replaced reverse bulbs with led, the new lights workedā€occasionally ā€œ now just flash on and off . (mostly off)
Thoughts??
Thanks
Mine work great on my ā€˜21 JTR. I have them on a switch for manual function, and have them wired into the reverse circuit with the Oracle harness. I used a one way diode to isolate the switched circuit, preventing back flow to the reverse circuit. My tail lights are factory led, but as I understand it, you might need to reprogram your ecu for rear led with a Tazer or similar. Feel freee to Dm Me if you’d like further advice. I’ll share my contact info.

I actually just had a problem with them this weekend and this thread reminded me that I need to reach out to @ORACLElights about it. Apparently there might be a bad connection, or a short of some sort in the lights or plug. My wife was following me home on the highway and noticed that the Oracle lights would both flash on quickly a few times, and on occasion the left or right reverse light would come on. It was only for maybe .5 - 1 second max and when it happened I noticed a very brief red flash on the dash, never fast enough to see what it was. I checked all of the fuses under the hood and confirmed the plugs behind the rear right tail light where the Oracle harness was plugged in was good and snug. It happened again the very next night.

I don't have any other mods to the wiring, I'm using the plug n play Oracle harness. It wasn't raining so I could rule out water and I hadn't been off-roading or anything like that.

Hmmm, yes I certainly could wire them independently to an aux switch. But I really got them as a boost to the reverse lights. Oracle advised to bypass the PnP harness and tap into the taillight wires directly. Not sure how that would help, and certainly don’t want to do that and wind up with the same results.

How much did you need to get into the wiring?

Is the PnP harness worth the extra $30??

I agree. I wanted them for reverse lights, and originally hooked them up only that way. I found later that being able to turn them on when not in reverse was equally helpful, so I added to my install giving me both options. Really nice in a dark driveway while loading or hooking up a trailer to not need a flashlight. I wouldn’t want them only on a switch either. I personally wouldn’t use taps. I’m big on not changing the factory wiring. Before I did that, I’d ask Oracle to send a replacement harness.

I planned on hooking it up to a switch with diodes but with the tazer install and hook up to reverse lights if you press the unlock 3 or 4 times it turns on the reverse lights. Hit lock to turn them off. That’s how I’ve been turning them on and off when loading or doing anything behind the car.

Very cool. I didn’t know that. I’m getting a Tazer soon to reprogram gearing and tire size. Maybe I’ll reclaim an aux switch if that works well.

yup! I found out by accident hitting the unlock button too many times but here it is in the user guide. This Tazer has so much to it.

I’m just hoping I don’t have the problems with it that many seem to. I doubt I’d ever buy one if it weren’t to reprogram for drivetrain changes. I don’t want a weird blinky light Jeep, which seems to be a common problem with these.

Yeah I bought one to change tire size. Once I learned all the bells and whistles that come with it you understand all the blinking lights ?

I bought the one without the reflector. I used the harness to connect them and nothing. I tapped into the pins indicated in a poorly produced video and nothing. I called Extreme Terrains where I bought them from and they offer a refund or suggested to tap into the 7 pin towing harness.
i believe a product should work as advertised. If it says it works on Gladiators Rubicon, it must work every time ( not just occasionally). By the way I still have not been able to make them work… Any and all suggestions are welcome.
