Take it right back to the dealer for the same repair. Someone else on this forum went through three new boxes before the fourth fixed the issue. Do not let FCA off the hook.
Like Mark said,, do not let FCA off the hook! Keep bringing it back and hounding them until they get it right. You deserve to have a Jeep that is not a death trap! I understand its inconvenient and frustrating but you cannot let them win. and @DunnMan I think that set up would be great and the dealer should not give you a hard time for a spacer lift.

I drove mine a lot over the weekend. My Gladiator is night and day different after the new steering box. Its so much better on the hwy now that sometimes I don't realize how fast I'm going and I'm going way over the speed limit. Especially, if I have the stereo turned up and I don't hear how loud the wind noise gets over 80 mph.

I have been doing the same thing since my new steering box was installed! Before I would concentrate on my speed because I couldn't go too fast or else the truck would be all over the place. Now it tracks almost like a sports car! I will be doing 85-90 and not realize how fast I am going. I am glad to hear your JT is driving much better since the new box install.

Where did you take your rig? I’m not sure if it makes a difference, or if it’s luck of the draw, but mine was (Unsuccessfully) replaced at Leith.

I picked my JT up with the new steering box installed yesterday evening. It is a night and day difference than before. This is how it should have drove from the factory. I am thankful I did not have to go through 3 or 4 boxes before getting a good one. My JT now drives amazing! I will keep you posted if anything changes but so far so freaking good.
When did you buy your JT? When was it made? Was it a very early one?

I ordered my JT October 28th and purchased it Friday December 6th 5 days after it arrived at the dealer. I waited a few months to buy because this Forum helped me decide the things I wanted and also helped me get the price I wanted. I think there has to be some pattern to why some trucks are getting the shitty steering boxes and others are not. It cant be luck of the draw right? I mean are there 2 assembly lines and one has the bad boxes and the other line the good ones? This is crazy how even some of the replacements have been bad! What the hell is going on here?? I suppose I lucked out and got a good box for my first replacement and you didn't? That's insane! There is something else at play here and we need to figure it out. Where are these boxes Manufactured at? Mexico? US? China if I dare say? So many question...

Interesting, I ordered Sept 1 2019, and got mine Oct 1st. Manual transmission

I need to record my steering and post a video because it's not the best steering but it's not horrible nor bad in my opinion

Other than those who ordered their vehicle, is their a way for those of us who purchased off a lot to know when the JT was manufactured? I’m one of the “lucky” ones with horrific dead spot in my steering.

The date of “assembly” doesnt matter when it comes to the steering box. This has been going on since the 18’ JL. Its the same shitty box, with a different part number. They must of paid $2 a piece to have them manufactured. Hence the complete lack of quality control.

I'm lucky too. Won the same lottery. I want to get "WANDERER" as a personalized plate.
On the JLU everyone wants to throw parts at the Jeep. I'm not doing that.
Our dealer has seen ours several times. But they closed the doors when the virus hit. No service. No sales.
I'm in Canada. I hope we can get ours fixed.

Yours is the first good news! We've had the computer brains flashed several times. We've reduced tire pressure. We've had 2 sets of tires on....all on Factory rims.

Now the dealer's doors are closed. Have been since the economy shut down. No sales. No service.

This box was revised and given a new part number in Feb of 2019. There have been no changes since then. Whoever makes them must have crap for quality control as some are fine and some are junk.

I believe the ONLY thing that was “revised” was the part #. It’s a publicity stunt of sorts.
