Been there, done that. Except mine occurred when I was out in the middle of nowhere, Utah. I was having serious pain--the kind where you verbalize it so all your traveling companions know you're hurting--and wasn't sure that it wasn't because I hadn't had a good bowel movement in a couple days. So, I decided to take a dump. Sat on the portable loo and this was my view. I had the strong belief, despite the overwhelming pain, that no one else in the world at that moment had as pretty a view as me. The next morning when we met the other half of our group, which had been camped that night about twenty miles away, I spoke with one of the crewmembers who was a nurse. He suggested I might have a hernia, that it could turn serious, so we should evacuate me. Which we did, terminating the trip early. Couple weeks later I had surgery for a double inguinal hernia--turning that into English, it really was serious and could even be life-threatening. But, that view ...Great, here I am sitting in my comfy chair recovering from hernia surgery and you make a post that makes me want to get up and go look. Movement is painful, I'm fighting the urge and so far pain is winning over curiosity.
Apologies to OP for hijacking the thread. I like to share stories.
