A lot more less expensive options.
In all fairness OP did ask for the best.

I'm happy with my $30 HF blocks but I'm pretty sure they aren't the best, unless of course by best you mean plenty adequate at a good price, then they might be the best.

I don't think the guy I'm pulling out of a ditch will turn his nose up at them. Unless part of one goes through his windshield, lol.

As usual with any "what's the best........" questions you will get as many different answers as there are people responding.

The best one is undeniably the one you have when you need it, I’ve purchased three of thr HF badland ones and through exactly the one time I needed to use my winch, on my last rig, I didn’t need it. I see no real reason to spend hundreds on one when for like $100 total I’ve acquired 3. This allows for the working load to be way under their rating and because it will be used recreationally and sparingly, they do the job of bragging rights quite nicely.

Edit : I'm wrong below. Leaving up for sake of conversation below.

For those suggesting the rings, look at what the friction does to your pull strength. It causes a significant loss.

I wish it didn't because I love the idea, simplicity, and weight. Maybe someday someone will come out with a version that uses bearings.

Only one report I've found claimed it being high friction, almost every other study shows it being fairly negligible. The physics of it back up these being low in terms of friction, not to mention their use in so many other applications with out issue.

These rings are taking over and if they really were the pull killers that one report claimed people wouldn't be switching to them so much.

Edit: efficiency difference is a loss of about ~4% for a block to ~8% or less for a ring so unless you are absolutely maxing it won't make a real world difference
