None of your business :)
I've started shopping around for a oil burner '23 glady but notice none of them come with any safety features, period. Not even remote start even on the $50k rubicon's I've seen.

I drive a Ford Ranger Tremor currently with all the safety features and truth be told, have come to appreciate it as a extra assurance (while looking over my shoulder). I've been in heavy traffic where the blind spot monitoring detected a speeding vehicle better than my instinct. But Ranger has some blind spots anyway.

I'm test driving a rubicon later tonight at my local dealer and will gauge whether its a deal breaker or not. All my past vehicles had all these safety features (even my kids Nissan Versa!) so I haven't driven one without for years. You'd think that Jeep would incl all this as standard equipment on a $50k truck !

Those that didnt get any of these safety features, do ya miss it or wish ya had gotten it over extra loaded options?

TIA!

i went from a fully loaded K900 V8 VIP with blind spot markers in the HUD, ACC, all the other safety crap (missing auto high beams which was odd for the pice but whatever) to a manual mojave with no safety packages that i ordered exactly as i wanted it (black hardtop manual mojave, aux, tow, and nothing else)

reasoning: my doors are off every chance i get, and a jeep is supposed to be a jeep. i might have gotten a willys sport if i thought my wife would've let me.

My thought process: buy a vehicle that excels at whatever it's supposed to do and you'll be fine. If you want a luxury ride, option it out to lean into luxury. if you want something a little more rough and tumble (which gladiators definitely fall into) then who cares if it's optioned a little more rough and tumble.

only mistake i made ordering mine was i should have gone cold weather. i ordered it cloth so i could put in my own custom 2 tone katzkin leather and originally i was planning to put in aftermarket seat heaters at that time too, but after they started building my mojave i realized the katzkin seat heating switches looked a little more aftermarket than i would have liked. I may still shop around and have them added in the future, but at this point, probably not.

All the Safety Features, including the Adaptive Cruise Control, were a requirement for my recent purchase. The salesman spent some time looking, and I also went through the 2023 nationwide inventory on the Jeep site. Of the 12,245 trucks listed, only two of them met my option requirements.

I left off blind spot monitoring off my 22 Rubicon. The reason I did so was because replacing a broken taillight on my Ford F150 cost over $700 because of that feature. I do not miss it but I do miss forward and reverse collision alerts. It took a few weeks before I stopped listening for them and to this day I still miss them. I‘ve never bumped into anything with the Jeep but I definitely wish it was a standard feature.

Not having them makes me crazy. It's been a feature on the last 3 cars that I purchased and I miss it. Too many close calls backing up because I'm distracted and assume I'm going to hear the beeps (yes, I'm programmed). I did purchase an aftermarket set from Amazon but never installed. Feels cheap and the wiring is for a car so all the leads are short with my purchase. It does not seem to be very difficult to install a 3rd party system but don't cheap out and read the reviews. Make sure the cables are long enough.

I miss it too

Have it on the JLUR and it annoys me, so I opted out on it when I ordered my JTM

My '21 has blind spot monitoring and rear collision alert. To be honest, they really don't add much value to my driving experience. I don't find them annoying, but neither are they truly helpful nor considered a must have to me.

I purposely ordered my Mojave without all the safety nonsense. It has a rear camera, why do you need a sensor? As for blind spot monitoring, I find most people don't adjust their mirrors correctly. If you can see your vehicle with the side mirrors, you have them adjusted too close to your vehicle. You should have to bend your neck slightly to see your vehicle in the side mirrors. Point them out, you'll see every vehicle between your rear mirror and side mirrors.

I'll be the odd man out, I hate that stuff. And it's a deal breaker for me if they have it.

I’m right there with you! I can’t stand it and a requirement for me was to make sure my Gladiator didn’t have any of those things. My wife’s Escalade has all that crap and I absolutely hate driving it. Damn thing will slam on the brakes if it thinks you are too close and when backing up during the holidays if there are Christmas lights shining to close well it slams on the brakes as well. I guess it thinks it’s headlights or something. The safety crap is a huge PITA and makes people a lazy driver. Not all people depend on it solely but I know a lot that do and don’t even look over there shoulder when changing lanes because if the little light doesn’t come on then you are all clear, which is definitely not always the case. Just my 2 cents

If you want blind spot avoidance, then use the windows the Jeep comes with to look for traffic before changing lanes. It has very good visibility for an SUV.

Would have been nice but they just wanted way to much money when I was buying my JT. Forward and rear monitors should have been standard with the vehicles.

On account of the fact that I have never rear ended anyone and I can turn my head and look over my shoulder - I didn't want tail lights that cost several hundred dollars to replace or needing to have stuff recalibrated after a windshield replacement.

I use my side mirrors when backing up and only glance at the camera if I am needing to get really close to something so rear collision detection is no big deal there.

Now in my SS Camaro the rear collision beepers are nice because its harder to see the back of the car and its a lot more money if the rear of it gets damaged. If I bump something with the truck (especially if its not someone else's car) I probably won't care.

Also a cheap ass and the truck cost too much as it was.

If it was my girlfriend though, I'd want every nanny they sell - because she is a terrible driver and it still hasn't gotten any better even without the safeties

My ex had a Rav4 with blind spot detection, lane keep assist, front collision avoidance, etc. We turned everything off except for the blind spot monitor.

The only regret I had actually has nothing to do with safety. Should have added the cold weather package for the heated seats and wheel.

I bought a base Sport specifically because I didn't want any of that stuff. I was amazed I could still buy a vehicle with hand crank windows in 2023! OK, a couple of days this winter I admit I missed having remote start, but that's about it.

You can always add the tazerjl to turn on the rear camera when changing lanes. The front camera can be added by either using the tazer one or if you want the oem one you can also add it for around $1000 for all the parts.
