It is easily avoidable in this scenario. You're putting passengers out in the open and then building a half ass "cage" to protect them. If the cage was built correctly with frame tie ins at the A,B,C pillars and at the rear of the truck there's no chance you'd bend the frame even if you tripled the weight rating. Just 1 more reason I won't be taking any tours in these home built rigs any time soon. A fake cage is disgraceful and good forbid you have a real accident with passengers back there. Hope the insurance policy is massive.

Those could be the most over priced frame gussets I've ever seen, especially if you have to pay someone else to weld them on. Of course if you have the skills to weld them on properly you probably have the skills to fabricate your own for 1/10th the price.

Yes, I am a little discouraged at the price too, but they seem to be the only game in town and first to come up with a system, so they get to charge what ever they want.

I have my fingers crossed @Artec will get in the game to give us some other frame brace options, i hate suggesting it cause i hate to take business away from a smaller outfit.

These posted above re-enforce the entire frame and are still cheaper. You could only install the section that goes where the rear bump stop is and I'd argue that boxing the frame would make it stronger than adding the truss underneath.

We have five Gladiators in tour service, two in Moab. One of the Moab rigs has a broken frame on both side in a weird spot, right in the center of the upper bump stop cup bracket. You can see the bend by the gap between the bed and the body in the first pic. Second pic shows the crack on the inside of the passenger side of the frame, the cracks are same both sides, but worse on the passenger side outside of the frame.

Obviously the driver/guide hit a ledge or something too hard, bottomed it out with a load of guests in the back. Local shops say most likely we'll have to replace the entire frame. Has anyione else had this happen or heard of this? New one on me.

Somewhere in this video I think he talks about this.... Either way those guys at shift Autowerks are aware of this problem... Yours isn't the only one to break there

An update for anyone following this, I took it to the local Jeep dealers excellent body shop. They wanted to replace the frame. Ran it to a frame & alignment shop and they felt confident they could align, repair and reinforce the frame. So, the frame shop got the business and has the JT.

Cost comparison, a frame replacement that includes the new factory frame at $6600, $13,900. The frame repair is $6000.

$6k seems crazy expensive to repair that, but that's good they can get it fixed.

Around here it’s the only game in town. We just need it fixed and back out on the trails making money.

A new frame would not only have the same weak spot to be beefed up (dealer would not modify it for strength), but an even bigger worry, every critical system would be r&r’d. I’ll pass! 🤣

At least it’s a business expense, tax write off.
