That is straight off the printer with no sanding or any post processing.

The carbon fiber filaments all come out like this. This is petg carbon fiber. I'm going to let it sit outside in the Florida sun today to see if it gets hot and deforms. From my research outside in the Florida sun petg should be fine. But inside in a car can cause deformation. So we shall see. Petg is also very UV stable. Also easier to print with than abs and asa. ( No heated chamber needed )
That looks really good!

It's weird how they did it, just a single LED it seems that just gets a wire from the running light. Come to think of it, our jeeps have zero function to alert drivers to one side or the other that we're turning, unless you have the High Altitude model w/ the mirror blinker.

Edit to add: I guess it's not weird, but annoying that they placed a side marker light with no further function besides being in an "on" state.
I thought this was also wierd and unsafe. I ended up buying some amazon fender vent turn signals for about $25 and they are pretty nice.

I added an amber side blinker on the cowl. Once had a near road rage thing going on possibly because they didn't know I was coming over.
This cowl light sounds interesting, can you post a picture here?

Looks good

the radius on the filet looks a little small on the top two photos, but looks more appropriate on the bottom one.

I would increase it to see if the intersection marries a little nicer.

Overall, looks great. Well done.
You have a good eye. So abs shrinks after you print it, and I haven't accounted for this shrinkage yet.

The lights are sticking out a little far at the moment because I can't push them all the way in.

I'm working on a revision right now that fixes this and also gives me bolt up points for the lights so that they don't ever fall out from vibrations.

Right now they are pressure fitted in. Which of course isn't ideal.

That looks amazing! Is that straight off the printer or do you need to sand them to get to that point? If that is no sanding that is just crazy how well they turn out. Have you found any tail lights that are rectangles and not angular?
So far I haven't found any rectangles that will fit perfectly yet. But I'm still looking...

Have to stick to around 6 inches long by 2 to 3 inches wide

Okay solved the pressure fit tail light.
Now the tail light will physically bolt into the shroud.

Please don't judge the print. It was a 5 hour fast print for concept, to see what changes need to be made.

Prototype 2 will start printing tonight.

There's now a lip preventing the light from going foward

And here is the bolt location

And here is the bracket used to secure the light to the housing. Keep in mind that it is still pressure fitted as well.

You might have seen these, but if not here are some a bit more rectangular. I guess since all of these are ATV/UTV they add the strobe and cargo function. It is so hard finding these with just 3 functions without just not wiring up the other 2 wires.

I’d love to see one of these facing to the rear and one facing to the side instead of the two dots. Then the backup light could really put out adequate lighting and provide side marker indications.

I have these lights also. I'm just not a big fan of the chrome inside and the word LED.

Otherwise I loved that they are proportional.

These are way to big to have facing to the side also.

That's the reason for the two dots.
