Rather then posting in many other oil threads heat threads towing threads I’m just going to start a thread of my own.. so I’m installing the insane diesel bypass system in line with a derail twin fan cooler. I’ll post up my install and results when I finish up. Any questions or tips are welcome here ! Any your going to void this or brake that is not welcome here. No negative Nancy’s! I’ll probably get a start on this in the next week or two.

@1979WagoneerLTD feel free to use this thread as well if you wish! We can keep this information in one central location to keep it easy for others to find.
my wife posted something on a travel trailer fb group and was blown away how many people wanted to know my plan for the oil temps haha.

What type of hoses and fittings you planning on using.? Lined rubber or stainless? AN fittings?

I got braided hoses and AN fittings. The hose that comes with the kit is a 250# working pressure rubber hose. I bought 20 more feet of braided because I plan on mounting my cooler at the rear of the truck. Under the bed.

Hey man just wanted to let you know that insane diesel sent me the new revision on their filter cap, found out after I installed my system about 3 weeks to a month ago,but this is how the filter Cap looks if you opted for it
Also yup that's a silver bit that didnt get anodized, and yup insane diesel really just left a metal shaving in the hole,I'm really am starting to not like em no more especially after I installed everything and being pissed cause no oil was coming out my filter cap,my fix was to not thread the oil cap all the way, pretty pissed at them especially since I installed everything....

Who do you think you are using that kind of logic ? Also you may not want warranty or brake talk but what if you break something ?

Seriously tho thanks for making this, looking forward to your results and maybe a company will make this into a legit kit.

What was different in your first cap? Did it not have the milled detents for the oil to pass through or did it not have the retainer for the filter milled in ?? Jw as mine looks just like your photo. Also I was a little disappointed that my parts are not all one color as in I ordered the blue set yet the cap and return cap are both black yet the bypass filter housing is blue ?…

Was hoping to get a jump on the install this weekend however I still don’t have my jt back.. took it in last Friday for abs light along with service traction control and 4x4 system lights.
Got a call in the afternoon stating that they are ordering an ABS wiring harness. Should be in in 4 days. Fast forward to today aka a week later and I call them up and they still don’t have it. They now claim an eta of 2/28/ …we will see.

Got the truck back today, they replace the chassis wiring harness. They flashed the ecm and that was supposed to have fixed the Ess not ready battery charging message. It didn’t. Came on soon after leaving the dealer lot. Pathetic.

I’ll be picking the new camper up Friday. Might try to get my system installed this weekend if I can find the time.
Also got a quote for a Mopar diesel lift. 2230 installed… no fucking way

That price sounds pretty inline? $1600ish for the lift, then add sales tax, 3 hours labor, and alignment?

Surely there's some small local accessory shop that has a lower labor rate and will skip the alignment check for $1-200 less.......Are you sure you want the minimum wage kid doing the install?

So I picked up the new camper Friday. Outside temp was 32 degrees. oil after towing the empty trailer home 20miles at 65mph was 228.
Scheduled to have a local shop install my system next Friday. I simply can’t find the time to get this thing done. While at the same time getting the camper prepped to go on her maiden voyage. I will post up pictures of the install when it’s completed!

Excellent, Im planning on doing the same thing so appreciate the insight and how it was done. Im more concerned with the cooler end of it, but might go to a remote filter too

I honestly was primarily concerned with the cooler as well. Reason for the bypass filter kit was so I had easy access to a pressurized oil source as well as metered flow and ease of return.
