Man. Rockjock unit is beautiful but had no instructions. I put a little blue loctite on it. Regardless

Could an improper driveline angle cause more noise from the carrier or pinion bearing?

Another carrier bearing option I found...

https://rockkrawler.com/jt-carrier-bearing-drop-kit/

From what I was told when I called Rock Krawler it is much taller 1 3/4" . It also adjusts the shaft position driver/passenger to straighten it out. That is also noted in the install guide for there lift where they note the use of the carrier bearing drop kit.

From the JT ADVENTURE-XLONG ARMSYSTEMS install guide:
"Please note: The JT rear third link mounting bracket also includes a carrier bearing drop mount built right in and also recenters the driveshaft down the tunnel removing the Z shape out of the driveline increasing driveline durability."

I'd be interested to confirm the height of this from someone who has it and how much the position of the shaft is moved Driver/Passenger.

I added the Rock Jock on mine also. Like you, I figured it cheap insurance, 35 buck. I'm running a RC 3.5" lift.

By looking at this picture of the drive shaft connection to the rear diff, can someone tell me if a spacer would be necessary? I really like the idea, but don’t know enough about the angles, as zero is apparently bad as well. If not, thanks anyway.

If the rear is lifted more than 2 inches with stock arms, you can benefit from a spacer. It looks like you need one from the photo but its best to measure the difference between the shaft angle and yoke angle to be sure.

The rear is stock control arms and 3.5-4 I’d guess. It started with the 3” JKS lift, but I have ram 1500 springs in the back as an add on, so it’s likely 4 in the back. Any opinions between the rock hard and Dana spicer options? I’d probably lean towards Dana if no one has a good reason otherwise.

Anyone have a picture of a stock rear pinion angle to diff? This is mine with the Clayton 2.5” lift. I also bought the rock jock spacer, yet to install it though.

Yours looks super tame compared to mine. If mine looked like that I wouldn’t bother with a spacer I don’t think. But if that’s 2.5, and mine looks the way it does. I’m getting one. Here’s my front picture. Harder to judge with u joints visually.

This just arrived. When it’s warmer later this week I’ll throw it on. Looks like a 20 min job max, but don’t they all. Thanks for the heads up on this everyone.

Threw it on today. Very easy. 10 minutes. No issues I can see. Did maybe 25 miles with a max speed of 65 so far, but no vibrations. Here’s the before and after pictures of the pinion angle, along with a picture of the spacer installed. The pictures aren’t perfect. The angle is way better at the bearing. 45 ft lbs didn’t seem very tight, but I trust my wrench and used blue loctite.

I just picked up the Rock Jock spacer. Is it as simple to install as it looks? Any pointers?
Super easy, the only hang up I had was I spent about 15mins trying to find my bottle of red loctite 🤦

I used a jackstand to hold the drive shaft at the carrier bearing. And used an impact wrench to spin off the factory bolts.
