I agree 100%. I am dumbfounded that Jeep left this option off both the JL and the JT, especially since the technology already exists across the FCA lineup. Why would a sunny day vehicle designed to remove the top and cruise not have cooled seats as an option?
This was exactly my thinking!

I know i've discussed this on this forum before, but passive cooling is just blowing air on your butt. If they wanted to cool the air with a thermal peltier thats also an option and probably wouldn't add a ton of cost. Others have said they would rather have beefier off road equipment like the dana 44 axles. I say make it an option, that way not every customer is stuck paying for it, but the ones that want it, can get it, and cover the full expense of that amenity.

I think the consensus was that for the cooled seats, there has to be perforations in the leather. So when it rains, the seat gets wet.

I suppose it depends on how many people are planning for their seat to get rained on. I will 99% of the time have the top up when its raining, or going to rain, so I would prefer the cooled seats when its blazing hot and the top is down!

Perforated leather is an option on JL now.

I am going cloth. While I agree leather is easier to clean up, especially dog hair, it almost always cracks. I don't want to condition my seats multiple times a year and I don't want cracked leather. Plus since I am getting most of the other options I figured it would save me some $.

My wife loves her cloth seats in her 2018 Rubicon JL - the heated seats work great

Doesn't katzkins offer custom covers with different materials? pretty use Jeep uses them so they would be as good as OEM.

Thats true. Someone said that the Katzkins are like $1,100 installed. Would be cool to have something similar to this:

I'm not married to the idea of leather seats... cleanup is the only thing compelling to me. That being said, from what I've seen... you only get the middle armrest/cupholder in the back seat on leather interiors. (If you look at the configurator on Jeep.com you can choose interior then do 360 and see leather seats have the hinge for that armrest... cloth do not. That's a bummer.

Cloth for me.

Leather gets too hot in summer, too cold in winter.

I think I'm going for red out with tan in.

Normally I would say cloth because I like the options you can get from Katskinz for less money. However the brown leather on the JT has my attention so who knows.

I agree with what you saw on the 360. That said, I have looked at a lot of videos shot at the reveal and they show cup holders on the floor behind the front console just like the cloth seat JL. In fact, it looked like they had floor mounted cupholders with the leather seats in some of the videos. Do the leather seat ones get 4 rearcupolders? I hope so, but doubt it. The 360 shows the AC vents, but does not depict the floor, so who knows. I also wonder whether what we saw at the auto show may not precisely depict what we will see on the dealer lot.

I'll bet that the leather interior Gladiators will have 4 cup holders in the back... I bet they don't create a special, different console for those models so they get what everyone gets, then they also get the armrest/cupholders.
