Likely not enough complaints on it to warrant a recall yet. Mine just hit 7k yesterday. Heres to hoping!

How I found out. I got an e-mail from Banks explaining what's going on.

EcoDiesel Factory Recall
As you may have heard, Stellantis has recently issued a recall of 2014-2019 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel pickups and 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel SUVs. A total of 138,645 vehicles are affected by the recall.

The problem: Because of premature wear, the CP4 high-pressure fuel pump may stop working and/or discharge internal debris into the affected vehicles’ fuel systems. As a result, the vehicle may stall due to fuel starvation. EcoDiesel-equipped Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiators JTs share the same fuel pump. However, they are not included in the current recall. View the defect report here.

The fix: Dealerships will replace the fuel pumps, inspect, and service the vehicles’ fuel systems, free of charge.

Stellantis will start mailing notification letters to owners of affected vehicles on July 29, 2022. Owners may also contact the Stellantis at 800-853-1403. To see if your vehicle is covered under the recall, enter your VIN here.

104 days in the shop for mine. Got it back a week ago. I had one of those stalls due to pump failure out on the trail. My service advisor did note that a recall was coming for the JL/JTs in first quarter 2023. Now, I didn't ask if that was FY or CY, but I am going to assume it's coming. Stellantis has recalled both versions of the CP4 at this point, and are backfitting the CP3 (at least that's what I understand) on the Cummins motors. I am not sure what the "fix" will be for the EcoDiesel, but I can guarantee you that parts will be an issue. For those that haven't had problems, count yourself as lucky. Waited 45 days for a single fuel rail to come in so the truck could be repaired. I have been a firm believer in not using additives in the past, and it worked just fine for me on three other CP4 equipped diesel vehicles. However, I picked the truck up and put additive in it before I even got it home. I love my Gladiator, but I'll be dammed if it strands me and the family again on a trail in the middle of nowhere with no cell service.

I do not understand why stellanis is not more transparent with the CP4 differences and changes to improve the issues UNLESS its the exact same part going in.

I too was surprised they were not included in the recall....particularly since I was impacted by it and since the failure the truck has not been right.... 202 days in the shop now over 15 months...

Ya it would be nice to know if Bosch changed the design or what.

I did find this:

https://lincolndieselspecialties.com/i-23847810-gm-oem-newly-updated-stock-cp4-pump-2011-2016.html

Says "newly updated". I wonder what they did...

Regardless, old or new pump I am running Hot Shot EDT. I put it in before I drove it off the dealer lot.
