My driver's door started clicking back in 2022, when my JTM was a year old.

That was soon followed by the passenger's front door, although not as bad as the driver's door. I unhooked the door check to 'fix' the driver's door but never did anything for the passenger's front door. It would noticeably click every time the door was opened or closed.

About 2 months ago, on a whim, I applied some Boeshield to the door seam just outboard of the door seal on my clicking front passenger door. After applying the Boeshield, I opened & closed the door about 6-8 times and the noise just stopped. The clicking noise has been gone ever since. I can't believe it worked.

For those with the door clicking, you may want to try this remedy.

Here is the seam where I applied the Boeshield:
(This is the pass. side front door)
One pic shows the pencil pointing at the seam, and the other shows the pencil point inserted into the seam.

It's worth a shot.

I had the dealer look at mine, they replaced the detent strap, noise is still there … I thought there was a TSB for this where applying lubrication to a section of the door was the official fix … I cannot find it.

Jeepcares is only helpful to a degree. I had 3 different reps when i was waiting for 1 shock. It was me that found teh correct replacement part for teh service manager and the parts manager. I love my JT but the accountability of the Jeep Dealership and Jeep warranty program is god awful and is an embarrassment to the brand.
i have to get my jeep hood repainted because of rust. Guess who will be out of a vehicle for 6 weeks because they don't provide loaners. Jeep Wave could help but that's 6 months of waiting for replies. Get this Jeep wave used like 5 different phone numbers and sometime they come up as Unknown caller. Who answers those calls? No one!! They leave a voicemail to call them back, then you leave a voicemail then they call back 3 weeks later.

Take your jeep to another Jeep dealer that has a body shop with their name on it, they will provide you with a loaner while getting your jeep corrosion repaired. First one I took it to said the same thing. They will get reimbursed for the rental from Jeep if they have an authorized Jeep paint shop. Look it over very carefully before you take it in and be ready to point out the damaged areas. Mine, I thought was just on the passengers door hinges, turns out, hood, tailgate and three out of four doors needed replaced. Once it gets down into the seams, it must be replaced Not repaired. They also added the zinc hinge spacers to all the hinges. (that’s per the TSB). They did a great job color matching it, but they’re getting it back to repair the gift of “orange peel” on everything they repainted. Geez. Do it right the first (second) time for hells sake. Good luck!

I had this problem on all 4 doors of my Jeep JL. I have a 10 day old Mojave and my drivers door already sounds as bad as my 43K mile JL doors. Unreal to me that Jeep can't fix this problem. Apparently it's how the doors are welded. The only way I was able to get rid of it is to unbolt the door stopper off the B pillar and slam the door so it recesses inside the door. So then you will have an old school Jeep door that will won't stay open on its own anymore. Sorry for the small rant, but this is such a dumb problem to have.

I had the same thing on my Mojave and as dumb as it sounds I sprayed some lithium grease into the door crack on the inside where the outer skin and inner skin meet and has completely eliminated the popping noise for over a month. Pita but was an easy fix for me.

For us, it's only in the rear because of young kids that will hop in there and fling the door open.

Ah. My grandkids were taught don't open the doors. They haven't caused a problem yet but I also don't unlock their doors till I am out of the truck.

Ah, I have this also. I've been meaning to check the tightness of the door check bolt but I see now that's most likely not the issue. Eh, whatever, luckily it doesn't bother me that much. Sorry to all who have this and is driving them nuts.

I wonder if slipping a small piece of shim stock between the two body panels would eliminate this noise..........

This is definitely not the bolt. It's inside the door where it is welded. Very common on JLs and apparently on JT's. Some start day one of ownership and others many miles down the road. I saw some dumb reel with a hot chick and she had a Jeep which is what I thought the reel was about. Well she exited the Jeep and the creaking was on her Jeep too unless it was the silicone in her chest.

Mine, oddly enough is on teh hood just under teh Rubicon sticker. Both sides. No hinge or tailgate rust at all.

That was my thought when the popping first started, sounded like it was inside the door and I just assumed it was a common Jeep thing. At my next service appointment at the Dealership I asked them to take a look and they informed me that the door stop bolt just needed tightened. Didn't make sense to me but the popping inside the door went away once it was tightened. I take the doors on and off all the time when the weather is nice enough and I always make sure all the bolts are tightened, so I was surprised that's what it ended up being (unless the dealership did something else and didn't tell me).

Just be happy it's fixed. I have tightened that bolt on all doors and they are tight. This is a clicking/ticking sound and has been an ongoing problem and poor design by Jeep on the doors. Shocking that Jeep designed something poorly I know.

100% poor designs all the way around with these vehicles, I'm going back in next week to have 2 doors, tailgate, and all hinges replaced due to corrosion. My wife makes fun of me all the time, in the year I've owned this Jeep I've been to the dealership for warranty work more than my wife's 10 year old Toyota has.
