Dealership said NO to recalibrating to 37s? How is it typically done?

Hey there,

This is my first Jeep, and its currently being shipping to the dealership. I have already bought a set of 37s and will be doing the Mopar 2" lift. I called my local dealer and they told me they won't calibrate 37s only 35s... has this been the experience everywhere or should I ask a different dealership?

How do I calibrate so my jeep knows it has 37s?

TIA

I'm guessing they'll only rewrite a service contract and recalibrate up to 35s (since this is now a factory option with the extreme recon package on the JL). You'll need to get your own programmer to change the tire size after they install it. Tazer and JScan are the most popular ones.

As a side note, it may be worth asking one of the dealership's service advisors how large of tires they'd recommend you install, and if they think there could be issues with warranty work after a certain tire size; this could save you some headache *IF* you ever run into issues and they try to blame your 37s. If they say max 35s, it may be worth asking another dealership. Some dealerships are more lift-friendly than others.

37s is where people start busting FADs and other chit. The stock stuff isn't up to them imo if you're gonna wheel. Mall crawler should be fine.

JSCAN software and security bypass cable and OBD bluetooth adapter
or
AlfaOBD software and security bypass cable and ODB bluetooth adapter
or
Hardware - Tazer

I used JSCAN software on my phone, the bypass cable and a bluetooth adapter. Cheap and I can use it for other stuff like diagnostics and more.
I also have AlfaOBD software on my phone and tablet - can do logging and diagnostics while I drive.
A lot of people like Tazer - it's hardware and works differently but has things software can't do.

You do it using a product that meets your needs and future uses.
There is no one product that does it all or that meets all needs.
I use software as I'm more of a diagnostics guy and there's nothing a Tazer does that I want or need and can't do with software. Others feel differently.
You are too far away or I'd say bring it over and I'd get the tire settings in there for ya.

I used it to setup my passive entry settings, setup the auto high beams, changed my tire sizes, etc.

I used a Tazer.

I might suggest a better lift then the Mopar 2" such as Clayton, Metalcloak, etc.... You'll be happier.

AEV also has the pro cal snap available for that
This is what I have, works great and zero issues, also no worry about having your JT dealer serviced if you have used it.

Jscan looks more affordable, im going to go ahead and go that route.
Depends on what you are looking for. JUST to change the tire size? Yea, Jscan is cheaper. But there are a lot of other things the Tazer can do that Jscan cant. If you want those, then....

I see people saying that all the time but I have yet to see anything it does that I want or can't do otherwise.
