No regrets in getting a gasser over diesel. Having owned a late model diesel truck. I do not miss all the extra worry and attention to detail one need to make sure a modern DPF/DEF diesel system is running happy and right.

Math is never there for diesel so that means getting one because you want the low end torque it delivers. Anything else, is just fooling yourself. If not risk averse and diesel is what you want for what it delivers, then get it.

No regrets only because Livernois has done a good tune for the 3.6 - and there is zero chance of deletes coming out for the diesels. If I could delete the crap off the diesel I'd regret the gasser, but that isn't the case.

I had a 2006 Duramax Diesel. It was a great engine. It had 140K miles on it when I traded it for my Overland. The V6 is more than adequate for what I need, and has plenty of power for what I do. I do not want one of these new diesels with all the emissions restrictions, and do not regret not getting one.

Nope, never gave the diesel a second thought.
Owned a Ram/Cummins 6.7 that I used mostly for towing duty.
Having delt with messy diesel pumps and the ownership cost, its not something I feel is worth it for light duty work.

As @Kevin_D said. I don't regret it. I would regret not getting a Max Tow though. I'm happy with my purchase. If they ever put a Hemi in one maybe I'll buy another, I'd rather have a Hemi over a diesel
Heck, if they’d pair the Pentastar with a decent turbo, I’d be thrilled. BMW has what they call a dual-scroll turbo, my wife’s 335i has one. They played around with dual nozzles, and the turbo lag is mostly gone. The 3L V-6 is more fun to drive (almost) than my V-8!

I have 11K on my diesel and love it. The low end grunt when wheeling in Moab or pulling my boat out of the water is worth it. The higher mpg is a bonus but I didn’t buy it for that reason, since I’ll have to put 200K on it to approach break even. I went from a 2016 F350 powerstroke to my Glady and pound for pound the 3.0 feels similar to the 6.7 in performance. I know I’m in the minority but that’s ok; I’m also a never Trump republican in Utah so I’m used to getting grief.

I do regret it a bit. There are times when I’d like to have the feel, sounds, mileage but like others have said I do a lot of short 5 to 10 minute trips around town and it would be far less ideal in those stations. Always pro’s and con’s and if I do get another JT I will strongly consider the diesel.

I got the Ecodiesel because I knew there was no way I'd be happy with the gasser!

Been building/driving Jeeps at work for the past 30 years......ever since the mini van motor era, never could pull the trigger on a new JK, JL, JT. Once I drove the diesel, it was a done deal!

Bought the 125k warranty and if it turns out to be problematic, it goes in the dumpster!

Nah… no grief. In the end only you have to be happy with the choice. Pros and cons for everything.

Our 440i has a twin turbo, 2017 model and it's almost more fun to drive than the 17 mustang 5.0 we got. A decent turbo in our Gladiator and a V6 and I too would be thrilled.

Thanks all! While I did really want the diesel, I didn’t want to order one and it’s nearly impossible to find what I was looking for. Got an amazing deal on a sarge green and loving it. I have the turbo in my wrangler and really loving how quick the v6 kicks.
