Which one do you recommend then? Just bought hot shots..As a lubrication sales person, cetane is certainly a concern. More so it is important to consider lubrication for high pressure injectors. Also an additive should have detergents to prevent the buildup of asphalteens , which come from the lower quality diesel fuel of today.
We tested an overwhelming amount of fuel products off the auto parts store shelves and found that about 85% failed to do what they claimed on the label. One even admitted that it is cheaper to defend a lawsuit than to make a product that does what it says!!
That’s crazy!!!
I just started using HotShots EDT a few thousand miles ago just as a safety measure and the thought of being without a vehicle because the injectors failed.Which one do you recommend then? Just bought hot shots..
The cetane rating isn’t what I worry about at all. I add it for the lubrication. To add another question to this thread…
What’s the cetane rating where you all are filling up? Is there a cetane rating that you would be comfortable with without using additives?
I know the tractor pullers and truck pullers like the Cenpeco products. I have never tried any of them. I may have to give em a shot and see how it goes. I have two big block diesels besides this baby Jeep diesel.Central petroleum company.
Their summer blend is called Diesel Max and a gallon treats 1000 gallons of fuel. Their claims of performance are on the conservative side of actual results. They have a full lineup of fuel additives as well as top quality oils!
Hmm, maybe i'll bump it to 2 oz. then.2oz of Hotshot EDT every fill up.
