As a lubrication sales person, cetane is certainly a concern. More so it is important to consider lubrication for high pressure injectors. Also an additive should have detergents to prevent the buildup of asphalteens , which come from the lower quality diesel fuel of today.
We tested an overwhelming amount of fuel products off the auto parts store shelves and found that about 85% failed to do what they claimed on the label. One even admitted that it is cheaper to defend a lawsuit than to make a product that does what it says!!
That’s crazy!!!

Optilube XPD religiously. Its a needed lubricant due to the sulphur issue with diesel, plus raising the cetane a few points. If you dont care about the lubricity and only want the cetane boost, then Hot Shot I think has the highest cetane boost of like 7 points or something, but rated medium on the lubrication help. The newer high pressure pumps need all the help they can get, and cetane doesnt help the pump

So, in addition to paying $5 per gallon for diesel, you also have to use an additive? Wow.

I just started using HotShots EDT a few thousand miles ago just as a safety measure and the thought of being without a vehicle because the injectors failed.

I didn't notice any increase in butt-horsepower or lower regens either, but I'm on the "better safe than sorry" side.

I'm using 1 oz per tank fill up which is ~$20 over 16 tank fulls so maybe $1.25 extra per tank is surely worth the insurance to me.

Central petroleum company.
Their summer blend is called Diesel Max and a gallon treats 1000 gallons of fuel. Their claims of performance are on the conservative side of actual results. They have a full lineup of fuel additives as well as top quality oils!

Cen-Pe-co is based in Walcott IA and sold mostly by independent sales people, but you should be able to find it thru Dirty Hooker Diesel among others!!

To add another question to this thread…
What’s the cetane rating where you all are filling up? Is there a cetane rating that you would be comfortable with without using additives?
The cetane rating isn’t what I worry about at all. I add it for the lubrication.

if you are looking for a “boost” look into a water methanal kit ???

I shove it in the corner of the cubby, and have something to keep it upright. I have had it leak though: when the bottle is nearly empty, on a hot day (or high altitude) the air in the main volume can expand enough to force the liquid up the straw and out the top! To solve that, i ensure the straw is empty and the bottle is slightly squeezed before I seal the cap so there is room for gas expansion when it gets hot.

1 oz every tank since new.

I know the tractor pullers and truck pullers like the Cenpeco products. I have never tried any of them. I may have to give em a shot and see how it goes. I have two big block diesels besides this baby Jeep diesel.

I've been using EDT for about six months now in both diesels. It does make a performance and mileage change. I hope it keeps the CP4 alive until they do the recall.......

I have used Hot Shot Secrets EDT and Diesel Winter Anti-Gel since the day I purchased my 2021 JTRD with 9miles on the odometer. This is from reading all the CP4 failures in other trucks.

I put in 1oz regardless of how much fuel I use when filling. 2oz if the tank is near empty. Recently I have also been adding the LX4 when I fuel. I install a new fuel filter every 10k miles and have not noticed any metal in the filters yet. Fingers crossed as I received the recall notice for my VIN. 36K miles and counting until they have replaced a few of these HPFP's in other Jeeps. I honestly don't want a dealership tech under the hood.
