Done and out in 3.5 hours. Just pump and gasket. Everything looked clean. They told me stickers and manual insert will come in the mail. Also told the pumps are kept and shipped back.

Service manager also said they’ve never been told what the upgrade is. So, still a mystery, but now I’m driving it.

Excelsior!

The pumps get thrown in the dumpster out back at the end of the day. That's what my service writer told me. That's why I asked for my old pump and got it.

Yeah. I figure that too. Just wasn’t in the mood to battle with another scared middle manager.

I'll be making sure to get my pump when they do mine. That could be a big cost saving piece of equipment in the future if this new mysterious pump doesn't work like it's supposed to. I'm about to call another dealership anyway to see if they can get it done faster. I've been waiting to get mine done since the fix came out.

How long has everyone been waiting at their dealer to get the recall done? I put my request in Nov23 at a Socal dealer, checked today and still no word. Is that about right, 5 months now? Assume since it’s in a larger city maybe.

My service writer said the same thing that Jeep wanted back as a core. Knew it's was bs, but didn't wanted to waist my time or beg for it ?

Got the parts ordered on November 3rd, they came in the last week of December and I got them installed first week of January.

Just dropped off the Jeep for the HPFP recall, it has been running great with no issues so far. It took about 1.5 months to get the parts in from initial order date.

Jeeps that run only get a pump, applicable lines and gaskets. Jeeps that are towed in or don’t run get an entire fuel system
I was told yesterday by a Jeep sales guy, the replacement pump is the same as the original, true or false?

The only thing known for certain at this time is it's still a CP4.2 pump, so at least from that frame of view it is still the same as original. Now as to whether any material or design changes have been implemented, that's still a nagging question.

Don't hold me this. From what I've read in different places. The design is the same for the most part. They did something with the roller. Plus changed the material somewhere. Roller?

Possibly. I guess what I was getting at is there's no definite, concrete answer as to any changes.

Who is going to step up and be the first to disassemble their new pump on camera for YouTube? It should be someone who kept their old pump for a side-by-side comparison. We want to know what is different. The information we all seek is right there under your hood.
