I was looking at the DV8 ones too. Seem nice and sturdy.
With the slim ones on the front, I have no issues with my calf or leg hitting it, and no seat clearance issues.

I had read reviews with the regular ones, some people complained about one issue, the other, or both.

During install, the bottom metal tabs didn’t want to push all the way down, and I suspect it’s from the plastic rivets or plastic welds that held the netting in. We are talking about an 1/8” at most, probably less. So I just bolted the keeper brackets on. It’s not noticeable from normal view, but when I was sitting on the ground to put them in I could tell. After bolting on the brackets they were solid.

Not a fan of the molle panels. Most of them sit so close to the seat when the door is closed that you can't actually use them as a molle panel. That and you'll crack your knee of them and it sucks. I've got a couple scars on my left knee from mine.
I love mine. Lots of storage.

I have the generic molle panel type off amazon. I think they have a star or a flag on them, I don't f'ing remember and don't care. They were cheap and easy to install and perform eleventy billion times better than the useless nets....which are still there under the added metal door pocket things.

I don't jam much down there in those things so their functionality is not that important to me, but they do help. They hold my pew-pew just fine and a little jug of hand sanitizer and catch french fries and gummy bears I might drop while driving.

The only drawbacks for me are, as others have mentioned, my left calf hits the front of the metal door pocket if I sit a certain way. Not a big deal but it happens. And on the other end my seatbelt can sometimes snag on the rear corner of the door pocket. Also not a huge deal but I have to be mindful to make sure that when I put on my seatbelt I'm not catching it on that corner.

But overall, good to go.
Interesting about the seatbelt catching, didn’t think of that but it’s a good consideration.

I got the fabric ones that you have pictured & am pretty happy with them. They're slim and have pockets for small items & paperwork. I originally got a cupholder that interfered with my leg so I didn't want to get a hard pocket with any kind of protrusion.

I’ve been wondering about a ‘cup holder’ pocket or bump out interfering with my leg too. I like having it tucked up 90 degrees beside the door.

I noticed some of the reviewers on Amazon said they come detached sometimes as they are only slotted in. Have you had this issue at all?

Same! A little pricy but I really like how well they match. Company really put a lot of effort into making them feel as if they were oem.
Great for water bottles and the like especially in road trips. The kids get a lot of use out of the back ones as well

I was lucky and bought them during the pre order for $85 for the fronts. Looks like they sell for $110 for the fronts now. I would have no problem paying $110 for american design and made door pockets that 100% replace the factory nets instead of cover them.

I personally wouldn't run anything but the Unofficial Use Only door pockets. With a wife and kids getting out I would just be asking for trouble by having relatively thin (and therefore sharp/painful) metal door pockets. They also look a lot better as an OEM+ style option in my opinion. Well worth the money.

Finally git a nice day, took a few minutes to install my Hooke Pockets. Pretty easy to install, deapite the weakness of the netting-the hardest part was probably cutting through the old elastic. New nets seem much stronger and have a center support. Pocket is about 1” wide now, no issues with my leg hitting it.

My favorite part about this subject is remembering how much I paid for a truck missing basic shit that other trucks have, like usable storage on the doors.

Or a front end that last more than 35K miles on stock size tires.

🤪

I do like the ones that add zipper style storage on the door. I may get some like that for mine one day. They have been in my Amazon cart for a minute.

Yea, it's pretty dumb that we have to add on to a poor design, but it's not just Jeep. I had to spend $75 to add a light into the trunk hatch of my wife's new Honda Passport. The wiring and small panel to pop out are already there, I can see it being left off the base trim, but it should be included in the top of the line ~$60K package
