With the slim ones on the front, I have no issues with my calf or leg hitting it, and no seat clearance issues.I was looking at the DV8 ones too. Seem nice and sturdy.
I had read reviews with the regular ones, some people complained about one issue, the other, or both.
During install, the bottom metal tabs didn’t want to push all the way down, and I suspect it’s from the plastic rivets or plastic welds that held the netting in. We are talking about an 1/8” at most, probably less. So I just bolted the keeper brackets on. It’s not noticeable from normal view, but when I was sitting on the ground to put them in I could tell. After bolting on the brackets they were solid.
