Going off this post, while I have a set of the cheap generic ones that go into the door hinge, I decided I would try the vent stick-on ones for the quick door off/back on days when I don't want to spend the extra couple minutes to put mirrors on then adjust them.

I ended up purchasing these which almost perfectly match the vent size:

Placing them took some slight patience. Because of their size, they have to be perfectly center or they slightly scrape the plastic trim when flipping the vent. Haven't had a chance to take the doors off yet to truly test them, but I think they are going to work well.

And I wonder if running the heater in winter will warm the adhesive and cause them to fall off behind the vent?

I'm interested to see how you like them while driving. I like that idea. Can you see the side of your truck? I really only want them for backing into the garage since it's a tight fit when my wife's car is in there too.
What you can see in the video is pretty close the the limits. By nature, since they are inside I can't see the edge of my vehicle, but I'm okay with that (with the door off I'm typically looking out the door frame when reverse parking anyways).

That's pretty slick for readiness.

Unfortunate for me, mind you I'm not a lawyer, but per the wording of the law this wouldn't suffice in Michigan.

"In addition all motor vehicles shall be equipped with an outside rearview mirror on the driver's side which shall be positioned to give the driver a rearviewing angle from the driver's side of the vehicle "
Yeah, I know they don't meet the letter of the law in CA either. I still have my larger mirrors for multiple days off, this is more for those quick one day doors off type of scenarios. It's more for my own safety and comfort level driving the vehicle than meeting the exact verbiage of the law. If I find they don't cover my blind spot well enough for me to feel safe, I'll likely remove them and return back to the fullsize ones.

Time will tell for this. I've had other items on the exterior of vehicles stand the test of time with 3M adhesive baking out in the chico summers (100+ degrees). Hopefully this works the same.

I had a set of $8.99 scooter mirrors from Oreileys that bolted right into the cowl and didn’t care for them much. I’ve been running no mirrors until I got lucky and found a set of the Mopar ones on Facebook marketplace. The guy was asking $125 and he took my offer for $100. I picked them up Saturday, haven’t put them on yet.

I was thinking I'd start with that route, but what didn't you like about them? Too small, hassle to remove cowl bolt to install them, or...?

I didn’t like how they vibrated like crazy while driving. At slower speeds it was manageable, but driving 75mph on a highway it was pretty awful. Installing them was as easy as it gets, just take the bolt out shown here and reinstall with the mirror.

I have the same, I like them other than having to keep a wrench on me and a little time to remove/install.

Clamp on atv mirrors are the sweet spot for me.

Mine just arrived today. For the price I figured it was worth a shot. Was happy to see it was 3M tape on there so hopefully they will stay put.

I use the Mopar kit, We really like it. doesnt move at Highway speeds like our jk's did. I think they were only $225 for the set when we ordered the Jeep.
Any pics? How do they mount?

Another vote for CMM in the lower position. My only complaint is that I wish they made a larger mirror. I might try replacing the mirror but keeping the arm and mount.

I'm using a set of scooter mirrors that were mentioned above. So inexpensive, work great, and easy to install. I also did the vent mirror thing which work well but I do like the larger mirror.

And, I have some knockoff CMM mirrors that are also inexpensive(35 bucks when I got them). The hardware is good but the mirror itself is trash. Luckily I had an old set of mirrors with hardware that I didn't like so I just replaced the mirror and now it's perfect.
