Some months back I "tried" to order a rear dv8 bumper. When I hit the "order now" button nothing happened. I didn't receive a confirmation of order email either.

I figured something was wrong with their site and ordered locally from a shop. Had bumper installed, etc.

Fast forward TWO MONTHS later. DV8 rear bumper shows up.

I emailed their "customer support" two times requesting a return, and have gotten radio silence both times.

It is things like this that turn me off to brands that think this is the 90's and they can just tell the customer to shove it, ignoring the fact we now have the internet to expose their shady or uncaring attitudes for their loyal customers.

Call them. I’ve emailed Quadratec several times and have never gotten a response. Have to figure out the channel that they support best sometimes. I don’t have experience with DV8, but some are responsive to calls, some emails, some text... just easier to try them all and see what actually gets through. Good luck!

I had a good experience with their customer service some months back. They agreed to warranty their step sliders after the ones I installed bent while rock crawling. They actually credited the dealer I bought them from as a return. Brandon is who I emailed with, at [email protected]. Good luck.

Quadratec is another one I won't be using again. Two week replies to emails, taking orders when they knowingly won't have the item in stock for the foreseeable future, and the list goes on! DV8 still has not replied. There is no excuse for this in 2020- and especially during a pandemic when all signs point to the economy taking a nosedive soon. You think they'd be on this...

Still radio silence. I guess i'll need to pursue this further on different channels. I notice all these companies pay attention when they start losing sales

Did they charge your credit card right away or 2 months later when the item arrived?? Why not dispute it with your credit card? This will usually get a quick response when they loose the money. Credit card disputes are usually very easy to do. The longer you wait the less recourse!

Ironic you say this... I've also noticed similar issues recently w/ Quadratec. In the past I would have told you they were 5-stars A+ and spot-on with shipping. With the pandemic I think they're at the mercy of the vendor community and it's just a hot mess dealing with that. That said, they're also not answering their phones / emails which doesn't help one bit.

Piss poor customer service is the reason I stopped my build. I never realized it would be that. Poor quality parts...sure. But the human aspect of trying to take care of a customer...never. I am used to spending between $15-25K on modifications and making things mine...I am literally done spending money on the Gladiator at a whopping $1600...just because I don't want to deal with anyone like the last vendor I dealt with.

His lack of addressing this probably answers the question.
Which is too bad since many small businesses have problems keeping up with email or social media.

For whatever reason, some people like as many degrees of separation when pushing a issue. Next to in person face to face, verbally by phone is too much for some people.

I did not post this in my first reply but just for my own satisfaction after reading the OP's stated problem, I googled DV8, found their CS number on the first page up top and in less than two minutes, I was talking to a live person at DV8 that was willing to direct me where needed.

Customer service was bad before the pandemic and now fuggedaboudit! I've had companies notify me that they're not taking calls and you can't leave messages. I've seen websites that say they're not taking ORDERS.

Back to the OP's post - if you're not sure you placed an order online and you never got a confirmation (not even in your spam folder) then that's on the supplier. CALL them and discuss it with them. They obviously have the upper hand because even if you can return it you'll likely be out the cost of shipping to you and back to them and that's if they take it back.

Customer "rule #1" - Don't bash a supplier UNTIL you've spoken to them and given them a chance to rectify the situation. Whatever is posted online stays there forever and there's no need to trash a company before giving them a real oppty to take care of you.

I've been ordering a lot of parts while building my Gladiator in the last couple of months and have to say customer service has been poor with most everybody. Yes, you can call them, but might as well take a long nap as the wait times are HOURS long. However, if I want to call and order something they answer right away! I've also had issues ordering online, which I do most of. Once I place the order (and they charge my credit card immediately) they state it is backordered, delayed, whatever. Basically, thanks for your money, but you won't see your part for a while! We don't know when. You can cancel your order, it will just take a couple hours of your time on the phone. Why not just state it is not available from the start so I can shop around? The best part is they all blame it the poor customer service on Covid! Luckily, I am done for a while so maybe things will change soon. I will definitely be more cautious next time I order anything. And they all wonder why people patronize Amazon!
