Mike,
Do have an updated picture of your dual PCM setup that you could share?

Thank You!
Nada, I ended up selling the truck. The secondary PCM stays put without anything though, I believe the hood liner prevents it from bouncing or sliding without suffocating it. I popped the hood a few times to put my hands on both PCMs when warmed up to see if the tuned one lying on top was ever hotter and it wasn’t.

Thank you sir for the quick reply! Much appreciated.

This thread was the spur that helped me with a clone of my ECM at home. @Justinswidebody was a massive help with getting the hardware and software needed to do this process. All in all a pretty straight forward process. Hardest part truly is getting the ECM out of a diesel wrangler (the 3.6 gasser I did was much easier) and the wait times to get hardware from AliExpress.

Don't let this scare you. Clone it yourself. Between ECM cost and AliExpress purchase, I am into a clone for less than three hundred.

If anyone is in the NETX region, I would help with a walk through.

If you want to clone your own ECU, you can purchase the tools to do it yourself for less than $150.

You have to purchase a Chinese clone of a scanmatik 2 pro, and use pcmflash version 1.20

You can get the clone scanmatik 2 pro from here:

US $37.14 25%OFF | SM2 PRO J2534 VCI PCM ECU Programmer Dongle 67 IN 1 ECU Read&Write V1.20 EEPROM FLASH BENCH OBD Update SM2 Hardware 12V/24V
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPGnnQI

Make sure to choose option (new full set).

If anyone is interested in learning to do it this way, please let me know and I will assist you..

I have done this myself, and have helped guide about 6 other members who have purchased the programmer and successfully cloned their ECU'S
I don't doubt the programmer could work in essence, just get worried about knocks offs of knock offs being sold by resellers. At a price point of 7 bucks are those the knock off knock off ones that got left out in the rain with the crappy power source that also didn't pass QC and are being flipped?

If you have a seller you bought from that sold a knock off that didn't fry your ecu then I am all ears.

Like i said i just get nervous about untested readers and cutthroat prices, and am hoping someone can point to a seller they bought a reader from that when used didn't fry their ECU.

I think it's awesome you have jumped into this figured it out, gave it a go and it worked!

Everything is a risk for sure. However so far haven't had anything go wrong. The real sm2 pro cost over $350. Dealer wants that to clone a ECU... Buying this tool for $50 let's you clone the ECU and have all your factory files in case anything ever goes wrong with your ECU, you can just reflash a new ECU...

I am just looking into this as well. I tentatively ordered a PCM using the original part number at the beginning of the thread.... 68256850AA. The place I ordered from had an automated response that says it may not fit my VIN. I have a 2022 Gladiator Ecodiesel Rubicon. Can anyone help me out...I thought that the Gen 3 Ecodiesels all have the same PCM....regardless of Gladiator, Wrangler or Ram. Should I be concerned or is this just a canned message from the parts house I ordered from?

Just need some reassurance.

When I’ve searched the part number through different Mopar part sites. It said they were compatible with the 2023 Ecodiesel
