How many miles did yours have when you started having problems?
Less tha 1000. I haven’t even had to change the oil yet and They tell me it needs a new engine.

They probably will not listen, but a brake pedal and throttle pedal recalibration and trans adaptive learning reset, might get it up and running, especially if they flash the TSB software update. Find it really hard to believe it needs a new engine. Did they say why?

All I’m being told is that they put out a bad batch of Gladiators that have engine problems but that is the dealer talking. Jeep themselves aren’t saying anything because they haven’t gotten back to me at all. An engine has been ordered. It’s been 30 days and I’m still waiting. Then they have to put it all back together. I told the dealer from the beginning that something is wrong with this truck but they don’t want to deal with it so I was posting to see if anyone else had trouble. The thing is brand new.

That's terrible, so sorry to hear you're going through this. Can't belive the dealer is saying there's a "bad batch" out there. Horrible look to say FCA knowingly has faulty products out there and aren't seeking them out on their own to correct. This is absolutely a quality control thing they should rectify if they want to keep increasing their "initial quality" scores. If I were you, I wouldn't even want a new engine in a broken product, I'd be fighting for them to take it back and then they should incentivise you to keep you as a customer. Best of luck and keep fighting! There are a lot of good JTs out there and hopefully you can get back in one soon...

If you haven’t already. Reach out to @JeepCares
Thanks. I just did that. Hopefully, they’ll respond because no one else wants to. I just want to be able to drive the kind of vehicle I purchased. I am actually a repeat customer and still have my Wrangler that I purchased new. You’re right though, I want a different truck I don’t want something that’s already been ripped apart and put back together.

Jeep Care is a joke so is Jeep Wave, don’t expect any help with those folks. Waste of time and space; try and get your case to the retention team. They aren’t much better but they control buybacks, refunds ect.
Mine started this at about 800 miles total shop time 45 or so days. It’s supposed to be ready Friday. Instead of a new engine they decided to take mine apart and replace some stuff.......because that the cool thing to do with a brand new 50k vehicle with 1000 miles on it.
Hopefully your experience with Jeep Cares and Jeep Wave is better than mine; I truly think they are a joke. Hopefully they at least call your back, don’t hang up on you, answer your calls ect. Just remember to document everything, get names, supervisors names, save everything....did I mention that Jeep Cares is a joke

Agreed. I am a repeat customer and bought the Gladiator over the Tacoma because I love my Wrangler. I was so excited to get the truck and it’s been a huge letdown. So many people have asked me where my truck is and when I tell them, they’re like nope. Not buying one of those. And they say they won’t use that dealer either. I’ve told people that I think the problem is this particular truck is bad but they’re freaked out by my experience. Who wants to pay 40,000 for a vehicle and then not get what they paid for.

Sorry that your experience has sucked as well. I hate that I have to go around bad mouthing Jeep but honestly their lack of response has pissed me off more than the fact that there’s something wrong with the vehicle. If I hadn’t put over 15000 down, I’d think of just letting them repossess it. I filed a complaint with the state yesterday and an investigator is supposed to be assigned but I continue to call everyday and am documenting my efforts.

Started with the stop/start system failure and has progressed to multi-system engine misfire. I have no idea what's wrong with it. From day one, it's got a rough idle and feels like it's going to stall until it warms up. I have no idea if it's ever performed right because it's always been that way.

And of course - the dealer gave me a rental which I had to take because I've got to work.

I'm just checking in with other people. The dealer told me there is a bad batch of Gladiators out there. I have a 2012 Wrangler. I bought it brand new. Same engine and never had an issue. So - totally frustrated by this Gladiator.
I had some start/stop alarms when I 1st bought mine but they just went away. I never got the misfire code but mine idles the exact same way and has since I bought it 7/19. I've got ~30000 miles on it now and it still idles like that...or at least it did a month ago when I took it in for the tsb work on the steering. The steering gear is back ordered and due in to the dealership on 11/7. I've been in a rental since the beginning of September and have not had my Jeep for the best Fall weather Tx has had in years.

Well, I can understand the frustration of not getting what you quite frankly “paid for.” Hopefully they get the issue corrected for you but because you are engaging JeepCares and other similar avenues to get the trouble fixed you are at least showing your willingness to work within the framework of warranty and if it comes down to it a buy back. I would maintain your cool and stay steady with getting what you want which is a vehicle that does what it is supposed to do. As for someone not wanting a vehicle simply because a repair has to be done, well that is just an unfair expectation. If you feel it will cause the vehicle to be worth less at trade due to the nature of the repair, then I would take that up with the manufacturer through the proper channels and legal means if necessary. But from my view, I don’t think that repaired issues would have much impact on a resale provided it isn’t collision. Hopefully they get you fixed and you can get back to enjoying your JT.

My experiences with Jeep Cares and Jeep Wave (oil change) have been very positive.

I really wish they would have not put a stop/start on this truck. I actually would have disconnected it but I didn’t want to void the warranty since I’ve had so many other problems. Thanks for the feedback on how yours idles.

I tend to disagree that the vehicle isn’t devalued. If you were on the lot looking to buy this vehicle and the dealer was like it only has 4000 miles on it why pay a new sticker price when you can get almost new? and then you were shown the maintenance record, would you buy it? This isn’t the first repair. It’s been back three times for warranty work since I bought it.

As far as dealing with Jeep, I’d love to hear from them to see if we could resolve it. It’s been two weeks and all I have is a case number. I call every day and leave a message for my case manager but haven’t gotten a call back yet.
