The back doors are identical on JL and JT
That's his point. Unlike on the JL, the fender doesn't interfere with the rear door, so there's no need for the angle on the JT rear doors. Instead of designing a different rear door for the JT, they just used the same doors, and the angle looks out of place/serves no purpose.

Similarly they won't design a JT specific half door to meet the rear body line.

So may I ask the purpose of these? It looks to be about the same as rolled down windows with a little more room laterally. Personally, I'm fine with my regular doors being either on or off. Hope you really like them though :)

I think they look great but I would love to see a pic of them with the top off the JT.

To me they look better with the top off than the full doors. With the full doors you get quite a bit of real estate from the body color window frames that changes the profile. While the sport bar and b pillar are also body color, I don't find them to stand out quite so much.

Having owned a TJ with half doors and a JKU with full doors, I can tell you that the difference in feel between them is huge. It may not look like a tremendous difference, but it is.. Half doors feel very very open and make for a perfect place to rest your arm. The full doors feel very confining by comparison. The half doors make the entire Jeep feel wider inside just by virtue of not presenting anything for your shoulder to bump in to. That difference is even more notable when wheeling.

Actually they are designed for both
Yes, I agree, they fit on both but the tub line does not match up on the JT. That's what we're talking about here where the rear door height does not match the JT tub height because the bed is higher up than the JL tub. That's all.

They look pretty sweet, and it'd be cool if they do eventually offer these as a dual door option.

I think the real question (for me at least) is: If they're "officially" sponsoring a method for removing and installing doors on your own, will they acknowledge the poor connector design and fix them via warranty if misaligned?

Not to get too off topic but I took my doors off a couple days ago and specifically checked the pin that was misaligned before and sure enough it was already bent, immediately after I disconnected it. I had no issues so I can only assume it was in the slot when connected. This all happened before trying to reconnect them :(. I can only bend that pin back so many times before I'm afraid it'll break. I cleaned up the female connector as it appeared to be catching the pin on the way out.

So what you're saying is they were actually designed for the JL, but can be used on the JT? :giggle:

Correct. They work with us because we use JL doors and most of the front end shares JL hardware everywhere else too, it's the rear and roof that differs quite a bit. They are saying it is designed for the JL because it lines up with the body of JL, but is shorter than the main body on the Jt. If you look where the body meets the door it's significantly higher, that's all.

So since I like asking the dealer weird questions, here goes.

And yes I know this site is for the JT not the JL. When you build a JL it lets you choose dual door group OR dual top group but not both. The answer from the boys in the back room is shipping. They ship the soft top inside OR they ship the half doors inside. The only way out would be to have the dealer do the half door group as a dealer option and they would ship via big brown etc.

As this pertains to us, when you order the dual top group, how does the soft top come? Also, the boys in the back room were fairly certain there is a kit number associated to the half door group somewhere because they have to track them at the factory and they have to move as a set since we have different color options in addition to standard versus premium uppers.

Then all we need is a vanity panel to ease the transition from the door to the JT tub and we are done.

It comes in the bed which may be a reason why you have to select a tonneau. I've seen them at dealers and every time they're in the truck with the tonneau on fully and locked to protect them.

Rolling a little OT... that is what has annoyed me most about Jeeps throughout the years. The body and window line doesn't match up.

But it does with half doors, the window line appears to line up with the line of the hood & cowl.

It will if you have the half doors for the TJ. Full doors can't match like that because the glass would have to be massive.
