That's a pretty expensive solution, isn't it?
Didn't claim it would be cheap. Just that it would make his hand feel better.

Your probably right that following this advice would result in pain in other places.

I wonder if @pgh gladiator has been reading the comments and has decided not to respond to all of the wisdom put forth.

Ditto on the Oregon.
Wish I could fuel my own though, I would be more careful then they are...

Never a issue with mine and still don't see a issue. I use my right hand. Is this really a thing or am I missing something.

It could be a problem if there was an issue with the door and space and alignment........... I approach it from the viewpoint of an advocate for those with handicaps..........
In my case my right hand has enough "tremor" these days aiming that nozzle into a hole with my right hand is clumsy. Besides, I'm quite left-handed - and it's a non-issue for me. Just keep the handle perpendicular to the ground.
Now - for someone with a handicap, say, my wife - she can't possibly use her right hand to fuel and only has 3 fingers on her left hand, so fueling is clumsy for her in any case. However, she does it and has never ever complained about being scratched or pinched or having trouble getting the fuel nozzle to fit into the tank because something was in the way.

I go back to what I "think" I saw in the original pictures - the fuel nozzle was turned so the hand was closer to the fuel door than necessary. If the nozzle was either straight in or even turned so the lower part or handle was to the right, it's a non-issue. Simply turn the whole thing a bit counter-clockwise.

How are you supposed to hook the cap to the door? It looks like there's a place for the strap to go but it never stays there for me. On my bmw's, there's a peg on the bottom of the cap that then sits into the gas door so it's not flopping against the paint.

I try and use this every time I fuel up and I'd say it stays there maybe 20% of the time. The slightest breeze or touch will just knock it right off. It is very poorly designed.

It's got to be an inside joke at Jeep. I put the wire in there at least 2-3 times before it stays put, but just glancing back at it will make that thing jump right out. My Honda had a molded u-shaped spot on the door that held the cap really well.
