Just spoke to chat and Brenda said dealers cannot order launch for inventory unless a customer ordered it with a deposit and signed purchase order.

So wtf? I’m feeling the dealer you posted is full of shit or the fraudulently ordered launches.

Its a free country.. that why its called a dealership basically Jeep sells the vehicle to the dealer..the dealer then sells to you.
And they can charge whatever they want.

If you want a lower price..... shop around. ...............Its Easy.

How is a dealership distribution system like government control? A company has the right to sell their product any way they choose. Comparing a private company selling a product to government regulation is a crazy long stretch. I said it before but in case you missed it a dealership cannot rape you without your permission. If the deal is bad just walk, it is as simple as that.
Actually FCA doesn't have the right to sell however it wants in a number of states. Here in Utah, they are legally prohibited from selling directly to consumers. It's the definition of government control. It's also why we didn't have a Tesla location for a long time. It was straight up illegal for them to sell here until the legislature made some exceptions.

Obviously dealers are also regulated, but not in how much they charge for a vehicle. The market determines that. As we all know, the market does have a few rich idiots who are willing to overpay.

Interesting thread.

Funny that so many on these forums don't realize how much this forum changed the game. The JL Wrangler Forum basically crowd-sourced lower Wrangler prices and it is bleeding over into the Gladiators.

Yes, there were a few dealers that were already doing it for other forums over the years but the critical mass came from this forum and using those deals to bring more dealers into the fold.

If you sit and be quiet about things nothing changes. Putting it out here for people to read and see how much there being taken advantage of hopefully sends a message. If we all let things just happen we will all pay the penalty of the overpriced vehicles.
If someone is paying over $10K above MSRP and doesn't know they are being taken advantage of without reading an Internet forum . . . there's really not much hope for that person anyway.

Considering the White House just sanctioned Iran & followed it up with useless assurances- the price at the pump could be a surprise for some owners this summer.

I suspect the torrent of high prices to slump along with a good portion of the economy for the second half of the year ....

I’m delaying my purchase until end of summer

Okay so I asked this before... anyone ready to say what demand curve will look like? Supply? We are at 75,000 and hot ass market, dealer add ons galore. At least that's the last I heard. Then they magically supply store least 4190 JTs, possibly thou gov orders.. what's your take?

My prog is two years pent up demand (75K + 150K?) Followed by growing production and differentiation at high end (yes deisel and supercharger versions) and strong used prices when leases end. Basically strong demand despite any headwinds like gas going up during elections etc. Of course this is straight out of my ass, and as always I reserve the right to be an idiot.

I expected annual sales to be around 45K/year. Then they sold 4,000 loaded in one day. So I have no clue.

But think about this - Colorados sell around 135k. That's not Bisons and ZR2. That's all Colorados.

Does it matter? Maybe I guess due to availability

BUT ..... you would think right now to be have the peak of demand and yet dealers are offering discounts

Election year upon us means lower consumer spending and volatility in markets

Gas will undoubtably assist in slowing economic growth

Will that slowdown be substantial? Not likely huge but certainly enough to influence car prices and spending so expect lower prices and lower stock returns in goods markets

This points to likely lower interest rates as housing and cars sales have already slowed but not quite slumped although close

Jeep is priced REAL high and the buyer who wants this vehicle is not the typical mid truck consumer - it’s Jeep aficionados who wants to pony up big $$$ for their brand loyalty

I don’t see a lot of Tacoma owners trading in all things considered and full size truck buyers wouldn’t even consider the JT a viable option

To me this points to slower sales by early/late fall and better prices

Nothing points to sustainability in current pricing - the Fever here on this forum is for brand lovers not typical consumers

Example is me: I’m debt free except my mortgage, I own two vehicles, I have no brand loyalty, I’m in the market, the only reason I’d consider the JT is I like the truck. Everything else points to other vehicles and I’ve second guessed this purchase dozens of times because of the cost and that I can get more car for money elsewhere

If you can wait, wait it will likely pay off in interest rates or price cuts

As has been discussed if Jeep raises the prices (like they did on the JL after release) of any options on this vehicle I’ll walk away. They already overpriced it and to charge more I’d find insulting and robbery. The cool factor only goes so far

Yeah there were a couple of employee's at the dealership I ordered from that said they got a launch edition. Although I am a glass half full kind of guy, there is a part of me that wonders if those LE's will show up on the lot.

I used to live in LA for 20 years and it is the mecca of car culture altho that culture is slowly dying down because of services like Uber and the younger generation not being interested in cars or owning cars... So, it doesn't surprise me one bit that it is marked up like crazy in LA and not to mention there is sick amounts of cash in LA and those people are willing to spend it as they please without a second thought... End of the day, anything is worth what the other person is willing to pay for - just like the Holland Lilies and moon rocks ;). My philosophy is if you are happy with your purchase on what you were willing to pay that's all that matters...
