I wonder if what something like that costs. Its got to be well into the hundreds of dollars.

Plus you sign a waiver absolving him of liability if he bounces your jeep off a rock on the way out.

I'd imagine these offroad have to be a flat fee, then time and distance because some of those rescues by matt's offroad are literally entire days

So what happens when the FAD fails or breaks? You're stuck with 2wd?

No, the front axle taco's and you have to have it towed.

Your front axle turns into v. It would be considered a Catastrophic failure and steering or forward movement cesses

At first glance that is Rory Irish. He is the man in Moab if you ever break down or get stuck on a trail.

I saw this video this morning. It’s got me a bit spooked tbh. That gladiator looks pretty mild. If it can happen to that truck what’s to keep it from happening to mine? Doesn’t look like he crashed into a rock. He’s in the dunes. Then the next thought… what’s the prevention? D60’s is way overkill for my truck. If that axle is trussed does that axle hold together in that case?

Don't wheel alone so you don't have to call for an expensive tow.

My buddy with a stinger and a winch would have hauled me out of there.

Liquor Attorney. So not all bad...
@5:30 "we were racing" ... "hit it" ... "he was showing off for his wife" - I feel bad for the JT owner but folks lets be honest. FAD may be a weak spot but its a Rubicon, not a Mojave. Speed increases forces in ways we don't always understand. FAD takes the abuse... no need for D60s for normal driving...

Mojave's axle isnt any stronger, if it broke the rubi he'd have broke the mojave too.

Is that the only way it fails or that a more extreme case? I was thinking more along the lines of the internal collar failing so the axles won't connect.
