Gladiatorisms ……. Bizarre, weird things…Normal or….?

#1) So, We’re sitting in the parking lot eating breakfast. The Jeep is in “ACC” mode so we can listen to music while we eat.
I get out of the Jeep to throw away the trash, and the alarm goes off!!! Alrighty then……
Embarrassed by the loud noises I was making at 6:30am on a Sunday morning…..with neighborhoods nearby.
Obviously, had to fish the keys out of my pocket to unlock/disarm.

#2) I filled up the tank … reset the MPG /screen. Drove a couple miles home and registered 30mpg when I pulled into the garage (that’s something you never see…..). The Jeep sat in the garage for a day……. I got in it yesterday, drove out of the driveway and the mpg screen was now saying 12mpg. There must be gremlins in my garage who’ve been revving the engine while I was sleeping…..

Sitting in construction zone. Side view mirrors light up and dash tells me it can’t do the whole radar proximity thing from the taillights. Shut it down at next stop and everything back to normal. Jeep being a Jeep.

If I get out of my JT while it is running and have the keys in my pocket (which I rarely do, I just leave them in the console), yes, the horn does sound 3 times.

Probably a setting I can turn off somewhere.

You can, I just can't remember if it's built in or the Tazer corrected it.

Hasn't fortunately happened on mine but the rental JT I had a in CA a couple years ago famously ran for 45 minutes with the key in my pocket in a weird remote start glitch.

This winter I was having a text conversation from the truck with a member here and truck was idling. Cell phone was not plugged into the dash and was connected via Bluetooth.

I had the heater fan on and was doing some other paper work and when a text would come in, the automated voice would tell me “new message from….”, the fan would shut off until voice alert was done and then start back up.

If phone is plugged in, it doesn’t do that.

Wow, good idea. Thanks. Will keep that in mind and not blast the next door neighbors if I come in later at night and want to move the trash cans to the street for the morning pickup.

Also, handy to know if I want to make off with a JT I see running at a convenience store. I won't fully close the door for a block or so.

I found out about a safety feature when I had the door ajar and tried to put in drive. Soon as the door swings it slams it back into park.

I don't close the door all the way when I get out to open/close the gate with the fob on my belt. The horn doesn't sound. If you don't close the door all the way when putting it in gear it won't move. My wife's '23 Grand Wagoneer is exactly the same. The locking the trans is a pain for me when wanting to lean out the door when backing in close quarters or driving up on a ramp. If that is the worse thing I have to deal with, all is good.

lol it will go into auto park if you move it with the door open (unless disabled it in the Tazer and that works randomly at best)

Well....mine "sneezes" if I press into the front bumper with the vehicle off. Not every time either, but quite often. At first I thought my cat, who sneezes a lot (Miss Sneezy Busket), had gotten into the garage, but she's been nowhere near around. And no, I have no idea what, how, or why. This happens when I have to squeeze past my front bumper to access my washer / dryer in the garage.

Mine was not as fun as yours, driving down the road the rear side passenger window just exploded, no reason, no cars around me, no debris on the road, just boom and glass everywhere at 4am in the morning...lol

mine likes to randomly tell me the key fob isn't present, even though its in my hand. A couple smacks of the fob on the steering wheel and it works again.

Tried replacing batteries, tried holding it to the start button. Nothing but some good ol violence fixes it.
