So, I signed up on the HGP webpage, they said, the product for Gladiator with ACC etc is 3rd quarter. That is going to be a long time with a glass cracked window.
Full glass coverage will replace that much quicker.

Whatever you want...I can supervise!
Our deer work in teams. One distracts you while the other jumps into your vehicle. And as you know, our deer will be able to stare you in the eye as you hit them. You don't bust their legs, you smack their chest and their head comes at you through the windshield. I had to convince a Kentucky resident that our deer can look right at you when you hit them. racks through the glass.
A friend had one fly OVER his Eagle one day.
They are mean and sneaky and big. It's the corn we feed them.
NOW! You're pulling my leg. Ain't no deer gonna jump over my eagle. Once I let'em go, ain't no deer gonna jump over my eagle, hundred's of feet in the air. Yep, here in the Delaware Valley, we grow em big. Unfortunately, I can't let mine outside anymore....without allot of red-tape! Seems they were bothering commercial aircraft at 30,000 feet...gotta file a flight plan with the FAA to let them out for a short fly-around...government regulations!

I checked with my dealer in Alberta and he said there are 27 on back order in the system with 2 being scheduled for release. This is because JeeP decided to install at factory I’m guessing. So maybe by March I will get a GG.
We need these in Alberta! I guess I should order one now to get it for spring. Lol

Yea, it is mostly a "hoax"...That hit looks like it can be fixed with an outfit which will come to your house and put the liquid in it...But you have to hurry before it spreads...When i use to commute to work those style cracks would happen every two years of so, and I was in an STS with a windshield which has a nice slope to it....No free lunch out there, but yep GG doesn't seem to buy one much.

Ok. I call BS on GG. This was this morning barely 2 miles on the highway. One pickup truck passed me. That’s all it took. GG shield #2 in about 2 months.

Larger than a quarter? If so, safelite likely won't touch it. And be aware that fixed in the line of vision may appear distorted and you'd still be able to see the cracks - they'll reflect sunlight.
I've had several repaired over the years and to this day can still go out and point to the repairs and even another person would say "yeah, I see it" and in the right light, they'll reflect.
So you can save some bucks IF it's under a certain size and they'll make it much less likely to spread (but will not guarantee that it won't) and deal with any distortion that remains, or pay up and get it replaced.
Most insurance companies (note the key word - most - ) will pay for a repair in full, no deductible, I can't recall how it works if it ends up spreading or cracking after repair, though.
The repairs I've had done were small - less than a dime in size and those so far have not spread. (but one of them still annoys me as I can see the crack and it was noticed when the car was in a show and I got a deduction for a chip in the glass - yeah, the judges saw it even though safelite repaired it. Read the fine print.

The Gorilla Glass layer is the layer in the cab - so it's not likely to prevent chips and such like most people end up with. The outer layer is still ordinary windshield glass and the middle layer is still the same substance.
The biggest advantage I see, after doing a lot of reading and studying, is the weight reduction by a fair amount and how it performs protecting occupants in major accidents or where things are bigger than pebbles. Small chips will still happen.

Do you know the weights?
1 the original?
2 GG?
Would be interested in the actual numbers.

I don't - I've seen numbers as high as "30% reduction" but that was speaking in general about windshields and why auto makers are flocking to GG as original windshields in cars to save fuel and meet CAFE requirements.
The weights of each would be very interesting - and since I added weight to mine with the steel bumper and winch, it might, if nothing else, be a way to recover some of that loss.

Mine broke for absolutely no reason. No chips, no rocks. Just some cold. Pissed off.

Gorilla Glass came on my truck. Bought it off the lot. 1st lasted until I was in cold temperatures then cracked, but that one had some rock strikes. I paid my $500 deductible for a 2nd GG windshield. It lasted a month, and then cracked from the defroster. No chips or strikes. I just think that is inexcusable for a product that costs 3 times as much as a standard autoglass windshield. My insurance will cover up to $5k per year, so I think I'm gonna try standard glass since it is so much cheaper to replace. Also, I am not going to run the defog if at all possible.

I recently went back to plain old OEM. Had my GG for a few weeks and wound up with 1 nice sized star rock hit and 2 large cracks that traveled.

Insurance wouldn’t replace with GG this time. Not worth the extra effort here in AZ.

No problems for me with regular glass in Michigan.

Get full glass coverage.
Full glass coverage is determined by a state's insurance commission. It's not just coverage you can select in a lot of states. For example in NJ it's not an option at all, all I could do was lower my comprehensive deductible ($200 felt like a reasonably priced premium for a relatively low deductible).
