Congrats. Like others have said, drive it for a bit. Look at others you see and go from there. If some lights and spacers will give you the look you're going for, then I say go fort it. It's yours and everyone's taste is different. That should give you a nice base to go from. I ended up with adding a set of factory side steps. I like them better, I don't have to step in one location and don't have to worry about rust out here in the Midwest
Factory steps can be a good option for several reasons. They’re cheap, they work good, and the quality is good.

Great model choice! Another vote for a roll up bed cover, also, go slow with the mods. Do your research determine what you need/want and buy once.

The Sundrider top is def a nice mod that is functional. Not sure that spacing out the stance will give much of a different feel. Ppl bolt so much crap onto Jeeps, take your time adding things instead of just adding things!

No shit. How many of them are convertible? This whole "JeEp sHoULd oNLy bE uSeD oFf-roAd" shtick is tiring. You're stating something that is 1. Obvious, and 2. Contributes nothing to the conversation because he already owns the truck.

Go climb some rocks
Is there another truck? Oh, yeah, those wannabes 🤣
No, you picked the right truck. I am certainly looking at the ‘24X now. I have been wheeling my ‘21 Mojave for a few years including Colorado and Utah trails. Nothing similar here in Florida, but, the Mojave is just a badass vehicle. Congrats! Upload some pictures from your adventures

Hi all,

After years of waiting I finally got the Gladiator I've been wanting since they were introduced. A week ago I bought a dark gray Mojave X. Since '21 every year the mantra (on youtube at least) has been "wait until next year" and when 25's were announced and I saw there weren't any real changes I went ahead and got one. I went with Mojave instead of Rubicon because during the test drives the Mojave seemed smoother on the street and TBH I don't plan on doing any off roading - the pejorative mall crawler.

I've just been tooling around getting used to being up high and whatnot coming from a slammed sports car background. I'm going to an off-road shop today for a Berliner and side steps and maybe seat covers. What other mods would you all recommend? I was thinking maybe spacers to make it feel more planted and maybe a cat-back because I am used to some rumble, and maybe some of those lights that sit in front of the A pillars, or a light bar attached to the front bumper? Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
The best after market product I have added is the softopper and rack. Keeping everything dry and hidden from view is huge. Keeping the Utah red dust out of your gear is priceless. The only combination I’m aware of fitting is the softopper and the Datin Fab rack that fits over it

I really like the grab bar drop in storage tray and I also got an organizer for the center console.

Less necessary was an aftermarket antenna to get rid of the obnoxious whip that comes stock. I also got some sill guards to help just keep the sill area looking nicer longer. Scratched sills tend to bother me.

I do climb rock with my gladiator. That’s why I bought a truck with the with the solid front axle. A jeep is made to be off-road. That’s where it shines. Everywhere else it gets bested by a standard suspension truck.
I owned a GMC Canyon, what a miserable experience. My Jeep rides smoother, handles better, gets better fuel mileage, and is more reliable. Sure maybe there are some other better options but forget that my Overland shines chewing up pavement all day long every day.

Well i mean i guess i drove it across a flat yard once so i guess i have done some off-roading. It handled that fairly well.

That is awesome! Enjoy your new ride and the adventures!

Agreed, I bought mine for a number of reasons but the main one is how it looks....frankly all the other mid size trucks look like each other. I also wanted a vehicle where you actually have to be involved in the driving. If one doesn't find these things fun to drive on or off road...then a Jeep isn't for them.

I had a Canyon too...it was fine. After a few months of ownership, I don't think I ever really looked at it again.

A few things that made my Jeep more enjoyable - full Bed Rug for the bed. Hard flip tonneau cover. Coverking headliner. Oracle backup lights. Hood struts ( I think mine are Redline). Dead pedal. Bolt Hood lock. Wireless CarPlay adapter (maybe Jeep took care of this for 24). Jscan and a security gateway adapter and Bluetooth dongle.

Congrats on the new ride - we love our Mojave and have taken it offroad several times. If you wanted a little taste of offroading I highly recommend signing up for a Jeep Adventure Academy course. You get a guided beginner's course and they teach you how and when to use your equipment, go over recovery, etc.... I would consider this a "Offroad 101" course - we were not disappointed. As others mentioned, don't go crazy immediately with the mods - do your homework, read the forums, see what others have done and learn from them. After you own the vehicle, you will start figuring out what you want.

Thus far for ours, we have:
Scooter mirrors (get a pair)- if taking doors off, these are the most logical/economic solution for side mirrors. unscrew a screw from your cowl, and screw these right in - for $16, can't go wrong.

Crank hoist-a-top - Makes taking the top off a super easy one person job. You can use 1/2" socket on the hand crank to make it a poor man's power lift! Just be sure when installing you mark where the vehicle is parked on the ground to "re-park" in the same exact spot for the top reinstallation.

Redline tuning hood struts - because I can't stand the hood stand - be sure to get the ones specific to he Mojave since we have the heavier steel hood

Shadeidea sunshade - because in Texas the sun tries to kill you like the Angry Sun in Mario Bros. 3. I went with orange to accent the Mojave.

Tyger T1 rollup cover - for around 2 benjamins, you get a quality bedcover. We've had ours for 2 years. We like the rollup as it squeezes under the crossrails we have on the bed and keeps everything 99% dry. For reference , I drove through Hurricane Beryl and there was just a couple drips. Use 303 protectant 1-2x per year to keep it (and your black exterior plastic) looking great

Side trays for gear shifter - great to have extra storage.... I feel jeep should have included these from the factory

Console organizer and pads for cupholders - get orange to match the Mojave of course! useful for organizing things

Radio/knob covers - to add some more subtle orange bling (amazon prime day impulse buy). I'll say the radio knobs work great, the headlight knob probably needs some tape applied to the inside to make it fit tighter

We also have the low profile Billie Bar rack to mount a bike rack to.

Once off-roading, you may consider a winch, and the harbor freight 12k synthetic line is a bargain with their 15-25% off coupons. I'm pretty sure I saw this going on sale for Black Friday. With the Mojave X, it might just drop right in with that steel bumper.

For lights, I'm considering the roadshock series from Harbor Freight. I'm not a hardcore offroader, so I don't need the absolute best for as often as I will be using the lights, winch, etc... plus I carry recovery strap and other gear when going off road. For the future, I'll probably got to 35x11.5" tires with the stock rims once my 33's wear out, and eventually some skid plates for the rear control arms, as I have hit those and the trailer hitch offroading.

I'd watch for a Amazon Prime day deal, or for some black friday deals - all this stuff will likely be on sale.

Sorry for the long post.... but this inspired me to make a build thread now!!!

My Gladiator is not a mall crawler but I pretty much only go to Walmart and Lowes in it. However, I still like my truck to look different than all the other ones in the parking lot. Things like steel bumpers and a couple off road lights. That is what's nice about owning a Jeep, you can make it yours.

Nice truck, but if you’re only going to use it for a mall crawler, there’s a whole lot of better options that would handle street driving better. Anything with an IFS front end
Seriously? C’mon man……. it’s the best & coolest convertible truck available. Anything with front wheel drive is B O R I N G as HELL!!!

Yea…I consider mine a mall crawler. ☺ It’s been on dirt roads, it tows a bass boat on the weekends, it hauls yard waste & other shit, it gets topless & doorless often in the summer, and it’ll get me thru the snow in the winter. I love the Jeep community and ducks.

You should be ashamed of yourself for telling us to buy something other than the coolest damn truck available!! 😉
