I just made that same drive a week and a half ago!Anyone picking up at Gupton 2/21?
Edit:
If your JT is on the lot and you’d like a picture, let me know. I will be there 8AM for pickup, then homeward bound to CO.![]()
Quadratec has some nice radio mounts and antenna mounts that are Jeep specific. I’m going to install this 10meter when mine comes in I run one now in my semi.First I would like to thank everyone on the thread for the comments and advice; the information provide here as been fantastic.
I'm working with Walter and Daniel and the process was as described throughout the thread; no surprises at all.
Timeline so far:
2/17 - Successfully placed order w/ deposit for JT Mojave - Sarge Green
2/18 - Received VON and VIN from Walter
2/19 to TBD - trying to patiently wait while watching youtube videos about Gladiators as a distraction.
Additional question; any HAM radio operators with examples of how they setup their mobile rig in their new Gladiator?

Hey Ron -Guys,
I'm really impressed with my Gupton experience thus far. I do have two questions about them after the Gladiator arrives on their site.
1. Do they add a "Gupton" sticker to the vehicle or worse drill holes to add their logo to the vehicle? If so, will they honor a request to not do this?
2. Once a vehicle arrives on their site, how long to they take to prep it and get it ready for sale? (1 day, 3-4 days, a week?)
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Regards,
Ron
Some promotional FCA rates limit the down payment to 10K but I don't think any of those are active for the JT right now. I put half down and wound up with a rate for 72 months that I'm very happy with; it was extremely competitive with the best advertised rates anywhere, not to mention it was for 72 months and it was going to be turnkey with Gupton. I wired them the down payment but I do think you could just write a personal check. I just wanted it over with. Can anyone tell me about their experience with financing with Gupton? Picking up on Weds and Renee asked me what my plans were for a down payment. I was curious if there were any advantages to putting more or less down, minimum or maximums, etc. I can call in tomorrow and ask, but thought I'd give the forum a chance before throwing busywork their way.
Awesome! Thanks for the heads up. Did they mention any minimums? If there aren't any incentives and their rates are competitive, I might as well use as much of their money as I can until I decide to pay it off. Some promotional FCA rates limit the down payment to 10K but I don't think any of those are active for the JT right now. Happy to share - but nah minimums never came up. I too wanted to use their money but I had to find a way to balance that with my desire for a reasonable payment amount.Awesome! Thanks for this info! Nice to hear your perspective on the drive home!Just took delivery of my Gladiator today at Gupton and I will say it was the best car buying experience I've had to date. I ordered on 1/11 and am very happy with the timeframe. Renee was nothing but helpful throughout the process and even better in person.
Ron - No Gupton sticker for me either.
This is my first Jeep. Having read plenty of forum posts, I was paying attention to a few specific things on my five hour drive home (in somewhat lousy weather):
Road noise: Yes it's louder than a car without a removable top, but even with the radio off it wasn't louder than I expected. Seem 100% okay to me. I did get the Mopar headliners... doubt I'll bother with any others.
Steering: It does wander a bit, but not enough to be a major problem. It did pull to the left more than a little at highway speeds, which I'll probably tackle with an alignment first. I'll probably do the upgraded stabilizer.
Suspension: The Rubicon suspension (which is what I got) is bouncier than I remember when test driving. I can see where the Mojave would smooth out bumps better at highway speed. Not an issue, but something I noticed. I've also never had a solid axle truck so I'm marking up some of this to just being a new experience. Can always upgrade suspension down the road, but I think it's fine for me as-is.
Gas Mileage: I was taking it easy and staying at or under the speed limit and ended up with just over 18 mpg. I am 100% fine with this, especially since I had Gupton install 35s before I took delivery and there were 4 33s in the truck bed (yes, I meant to get 5 and mis-communciated... will change out the spare shortly).
So far I'm very happy with it. Pretty sure I'll start with a few small adjustments/upgrades and start the "just one more thing" process. :P Looking forward to the adventures my kids and I will have this year.
At what point did you work with Gupton about installing 35s and other add-ons? Was that before/after actual delivery? I ordered on 2/6, but I'm still waiting on my build sheet to become available.Just took delivery of my Gladiator today at Gupton and I will say it was the best car buying experience I've had to date.
