Can’t say I disagree there about Select-Trak. I had a 19 Cherokee Trailhawk that was amazing on the road in the snow, admittedly not much of a I comparison. I didn’t fully realize how big of a difference the 4WD systems would be on the road. Not jeeps fault though, that’s mine for not understanding what I was buying or applications. Looking back, should have made that a must have, my bad. Then not having select-trac during bad snow and ice was also a reminder of my config not being ideal and up to date. just too basic of a 4wd system that struggles when it should not have any issue. My former Grand Cherokee was easily able to drive where my gladiator struggled badly.
….
don't get me started on the grand Wagoneer that I also have, one of the worst released products ever from Jeep, nothing but trouble with electrical issues and software updates. Major regrets on buying that vehicle.
Regarding the Wagoneer, that really doesn’t surprise me. Year one with any vehicle is almost always plagued with glitches. They’re one big computer and you’re basically the tester. My wife drives a Range Rover which honestly has been amazing…except for a couple system glitches that were TCO by computer updates. She’ll trade the comfort and luxury for the occasion bug all day long and on some days I will too!
I kinda look at those as issues that come with the territory, good with the bad. Buy bigger toys, get bigger problems!
