I’ve had both and really like the hardtop. I normally ride with it in the summer with freedom panels out, mesh sunscreen and tube doors.
id love to find a soft top. If I can ever find one cheap, i may go that route. I almost think I would use it more.

I think it’s only a matter of time before the gladiator gets canned. I don’t think it’s going to be a big hit as time goes on.
If they add a V8 option, then it will be around for a while. Still think it's not going anywhere anytime soon but if they do stop then we are sitting in gold mines, especially 15 or 20 years from now.

Not referring it is for wrangler lovers and others who understand their vehicle. For reference to my point , my nieces father came into some money and for her 16 birthday goes “we’re going to get you a rubicon because It will tell people you have money”. She then goes “ I’ll have to get big tires and a lift because it won’t look right without it and most of my friends have that”.

I’ve been a wrangler owner for awhile and the majority of people I know with wranglers only buy rubicons because their “cool”

I would honestly be surprised if they offer a V8 option for the JT. That is a big ass engine for a midsized pickup, especially now that Jeep offers a Diesel engine. I think what ford has done recently with the ranger (now a 4 cylinder) and F-150 (now a V6) and the dual turbos is pretty interesting. From what I hear the new Ford truck engines have not sacrificed power with the change.

Who let this buzzkill in here? lol
We’ve got ours, and no one can take them away. If they stop selling them, it’ll only encourage me to keep mine longer.

I have both the hard top and premium soft top and love both here in MN. The only time the soft top was noticeably louder was driving on the highway directly into a very brutal wind - thought something was going to tear loose, but everything held together.

Other than that, love having the hard top in winter and soft top in non-winter (I seem to put it on too early but once it hits 40 degrees it feels amazing and can't help myself). Yeah, sure, the manbun look isn't great but doesn't bother me since I'm in the truck and can't see it. I don't have a roof, and am happy, so if someone else thinks it looks funny oh well. Even removing the back window and driving with doors on and soft top closed feels amazing.

Also super easy to completely remove the ST (along with the doors) if the forecast is looking dry for a few days. And like others said, you'll be able to figure out a way to handle the HT install and removal by yourself.

I currently have a soft top on my JT. I am contemplating buying a hard top. From what I understand there is not a major difference in noise between a soft and hard top. But I have small children and I think they would sometimes benefit from a quieter ride (or I know at least I would!). Is the hardtop insulation worth the money as far as noise is concerned?
For me, the best combination is the hybrid mix of factory hardtop and addition of the Bestop black twill sunrider for hardtop. The ease at which you can open/close the softop is amazing - literally 5 seconds while stopped at a red light! Love mine!

I bought the duel top group. I like the soft top so much I don’t think I will ever put the hardtop on. Never used and just sitting in my hanger. What part of the country are you in? If you have any interest it is in Salt Lake.

I just picked up my 2022 JTM last week, with the factory freedom hard top, and with the Mopar head liner, and cold weather package. This is my first Jeep. I am up in Northern VT this weekend, where it’s -18 F today. The drive up here was comfortable though; I was really surprised how well that roof works with the Mopar headliner. I kept watching the outside temp drop, from 30, to 20, to 10, to 0, to -10 etc, and all the while no issues in the cabin. It was windy as heck in the Franconia Notch.

I’m definitely interested in a soft top for summer but man am I impressed with the hard top winter performance. What’s the best soft top if I’m trying to avoid the man bun?
