Yesterday I did 10 hours and 700 miles in my LE.
I was wondering if anyone has had an issue with the area around your feet getting really hot all of sudden..
Nope. Did a 10 hour drive the other day to get my daughter from a college summer class. Had freeway driving and slow driving. Never felt anything hot. Being a transplant hippy from Seattle now in Montana, I also have driven with my Birkenstock sandals - especially with Red and his posts I even pulled my foot out and was barefoot to see if I could feel anything problematic related to heat. Nothing to report so far.

I picked mine up in IA and drove to FL.
IA-WI 400 miles, no heat
WI-MS 800 miles, no heat
MS-FL 900 miles, no heat from floor, I reached down, felt it, chuckled 'crazy bastard'.
Outside was hotter than hell, inside the truck just fine. lol

That was the thing everybody tried to help but he just kept rambling on about his issues everywhere and not listening. Looks like he self deleted all his post and account info.
I don't know that a single user has that power to delete threads. I think there was Jay intervention one way or another.

Red had a certain internet communication that probably rubbed more people the wrong way than the right way.

That being said, he was the catalyst to my plywood topper idea.

So how does the OP explain or test this random hvac heat dump to the floor, so the dealer understands the issue?

I still have some conversations saved where I discussed the white spots on his engine cover as being antifreeze, but he told me he'd think aobut having the dealer look at it. Borrowing money from his ex-wife to buy the Gladiator. If that isn't crazy, then I don't know what is.

Nope, didn't miss any of his posts, I enjoyed some of them that weren't heat related. The last 2 weeks of his posts were when people really started to treat him bad, I started to feel sorry for the guy, whether he was crazy or not. He felt he had real issues with his Gladiator and turned to the forum for help, just like every other person would. Some of the people who treated him bad didn't even have their trucks yet, but felt it was necessary to put him down. I'm actually surprised he stuck around as long as he did.

I have been away for almost a month camping in Colorado and Utah...
While in Ouray, Colorado we rented 2 JK Rubicon’s to run some of the more difficult trails. I immediately thought of Red when I saw the warning label on the JK’s tunnel besides the drivers right foot.
I also looked underneath the truck and saw that the exhaust had the Loop as well.

We drove that rig all day up to 12,000+ feet in elevation in 4wd low and NO carpet and never felt any heat issues (I even put my hand down there to feel the metal. Yes it was warm but not scalding hot).

So this has been designed this way for several years and apparently it’s not a big deal..

My theory on the disappearance of Red is that FCA Legal got involved and a gag order was issued. All of his communication had to be deleted until the case gets resolved.

I don’t think we pissed him off. Sure he had a lot of terse statements made to him and he seemed to let them be like water on a ducks back, rolled right off of him. And he would fire back a reply. I frankly think that @Renegade hit the nail on the head. Red ticked off the Jeep legal team, major concern about lots of lawsuits by so many people reading his posts and they must have felt that they needed to shut him up for good.

I noticed the hot air issue yesterday.

Truck was topless, so I turned the AC off, and maybe after 10 minutes or so I felt hot air at my feet. I checked and checked again, the vents were definitely pushing hot air. As soon as I turned the AC back on, it turned to cold.

I could see that that I guess, but why leave the remnant of his username?
I don’t see any remnants of us user name. Just know that everyone well remembers him. Kinda hard to forget him after his many rambling posts.

I've had the same issue on road trips. Not sure why it does that...
