I bought a set of rubi take off springs and shocks. The guy also have me two spring “pads”. One pad is grey(68466077AA) and has some noticeable differences from the black one(68342250AC). Should use these or will I be safe with the pads already on my truck? The guy did install a 2 inch Mopar lift so maybe the gray pad was from that?

 Thanks guys. I got A little excited this morning. Swapped out shocks all around with rubi take offs and swapped out the front springs as well. I have rear springs but after getting the front shocks/springs competed I was wiped and just did rear shocks. At this point I may just keep the willys rear springs on. Those look like a pita to get out and this is the first time I have ever done this kind of vehicle work myself. Little lift in the front did fix some rake.

That is really odd...there are a ton of threads/posts on here about coil springs bowing and correction pads. I purchased the Metalcloak lower isolators to replace the OEM pads which were completely trashed. The Metalcloak pads are both the same size and I still have a pretty gnarly bow on my driver side coil spring. Normally parts that are side specific would be differentiated by a driver/passenger designation not right or left - as that is different depending on which end of the vehicle you're looking at. Which isolator did you put on the driver side?

I put gray on passenger side and black on divers side. The gray one has substantial difference in that the plastic on the side is much taller. I guess that taller area would hold the spring better?

Park it level and measure the fender heights on either side. Go take it for a spin, hit some speedbumps or potholes, come back, measure again. If the measurements aren't the same, parts need to be swapped.

If the gray has an "L" on it, that would be the driver's side.

When I put the part number for the gray pad in google I get this image which makes it look like the passenger side. Of course this is all after the fact of a hard fought Saturday install. The passenger side is a little bit higher then drivers but not by much. Less then a quarter inch and I don’t know if that is worth the work.

super old thread but i'm doing some research: when you said yours were trashed, what do you mean?

When i added a spacer to mine one side had a spring pad that looked squashed. I'm wondering if adding correction pads would gain me a smidge of height. Did you notice anything like that?

Didn't measure for height but it would have probably been noticeable (.25"-.5") had my springs not been bowing so badly. That was the only part from Metalcloak that I've ever been dissatisfied with.

The passengers side isolator is thicker to account for the weight of the fuel tank. With a full tank it should sit level.
