Retired for now!
I have a 2021 JTR and have a lot of money, for me anyway, tied up in just the price of it alone. This is an awesome vehicle for me and I try to take care of it. I bought it to take off road, however I do not want to rock crawl, or go through wet mud pits that are 2+ foot deep. I bought it to take it on old easy trails, like power line or forest roads and not get it all scratched up. Just enjoy the hilly trails and not take it really anywhere real difficult. I really don't want just a pavement princess as my son in law says many Jeeps are, however I want to keep it always like new if possible, yet still have fun with it. I do have a new winch, new front steel bumper, and a leveling kit to install. I will probably keep the stock 33" Falken tires on it for now.

The question to y'all is how do you plan to use your Gladiator? Are any of you like me or are you going all out and really using it on extreme trails, rock crawls, etc?

TIA for your replies!

My driving is mostly for work, 30k miles in just over 2.5 years. I've been on a few dirt roads, but had no time (yet) for any recreational activity. I have an Overland with the street tires.

Mine is my DD but I have hit trails with it and that’s what I’m building it for, I pin striped it the first week, gave the skids a hell of a work out broke a short link had it covered in mud ( though I try to avoid mud, hate cleaning it) going to hit up some badge of honor trials this summer.

I clean it regularly, wash and wax it, check hardware, clean corrosion if any is found, grease etc. it’s also my hunting vehicle and my Lowe’s hauler lol.

But to each their own, gotta do what you feel comfortable doing with it.

I plan on driving mine with a combination of the gas pedal, brake, steering wheel and transmission.

Silliness aside, these pictures should answer the question

The TJ is my dedicated off road beast, but there will be times when I go camping with just the Gladiator and wanted lockers and FAD
I'll be honest, I also just wanted to be able to say, I tow a Rubicon with a Rubicon.

It's a truck, so I use it for hauling things.
It's a Jeep, so I use it for Jeep things - namely driving topless/doorless, using 4WD, and generally just enjoying life.

It's one of multiple vehicles we own. It's not our family hauler, it's not my exclusive commuter vehicle. It's... It's...

my precious.

So why a Rubicon? A base Sport will do all of that.
We've been enjoying our Max tow for towing and off-roading.

I’ve used mine to travel exclusively. Spent the last 12 months and 18000 miles seeing the good ole USA. From the Great Lakes to PA, down to the salty shores of FL. To sitting in the dusty desert of AZ enjoying every minute.

Maybe a little mall crawling…JK ?

But I am extremely OCD about keeping it clean…

After I get it dirty on those backroads to my favorite fly-fishing destinations!!! ?

I have my kid hauler 2018 Expedition
My DD: 2019 Fusion Hybrid
My weekend warrior: JT Mojave. Boys and I enjoy it. It’s been in the mud, on rough trails, hauled my boat to and from the lake although my expedition is a far better tow rig. It hauls my stuff from Lowe’s/HD/TSC and whatnot. I would have bought a PowerWagon but it doesn’t allow for top off driving.

Because it was on the lot, I was able to get a good deal on it, and if I ever need the lockers or SBD, I will have it. I would rather be over prepared than under prepared. And if someone needs help in the winter, or on a trail, I want to be able to help them! I enjoy helping others!

Mines a DD. This week, it will be 6 months that I have owned it. Just broke 1300mi. (I should probably slow it down some )

I bought it to use as a truck, not specifically to go off road. So, wherever a truck can take me, I may go....

Winch and kinetic rope are good for that too.

Mine is a DD, a stuff hauler, a family hauler, a road trip vehicle, and our trail vehicle. I love taking the top and doors off when I can. I use it for everything. It's awesome and I love it. We're coming up on our anniversary soon. Gonna get her a new lift. That is all.
