I’m in my 60’s. Since I have the 6-speed manual and likely can’t replace it I’ll probably drive it until one of us eventually fails. I’d say another 40 years is about right.

My ultimate goal is to die on my 102ed birthday, while making love with my new wife, who is so distraught that she has to cancel her photo shoot for the 2061 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. After that, my great-great grand kids can fight it out for the Jeep.
Hmm you and I have similar goals in life I'm 51..... Mine is slightly different, that my military retirement pension is being paid to my distraught Wife in her late 20s to 30s and kid(s)... :like:  that I passed at over 100 years old.
I've been to the grave of one of last Civil War Vets the government was paying his pension to his wife, it was about a hundred years after the Civil War ended.
On to my planned time for keeping JT, a long time. I still have my 91 MJ I ordered in June 91), 90XJ I got it in 99, 91XJ (planned replacement for 90) and 05 LJ I guess that says it all there. The 90 XJ is done and I'm pulling T-case, axles, lift, bumper's and other mods out for the 91 XJ. After I strip parts off it, I will dispose of the shell. It had a good run I picked it up in 99 as a toy for off roading and general hard use / abuse. The LJ then became my D.D. in 05 racking up a little over 250000 miles by time I got my JT. I plan on having it as long as possible then to have as secondary vehicle in 10-20 years by that time a good EV vehicle (Jeep) should be available that has good range.... of more than 50 miles say way past 350 miles or it can fly.:fingerscrossed::giggle:
I basically bought a Jeep after every military operation I had in SWA... Seven Jeeps so far but that leaves me one to go.;)

If a V8 is released I'm ordering it on launch day. I don't think it will be around for too long. If it's within the next 2-3 years I will trade in. Otherwise it will be in addition to. I would hate to lose a 6 speed Punk'n JTR but for a V8 I would let it go. But in 3 or 4 years I won't have payments on this one so I could afford a 2nd. For no other reason would I let this one go. And I don't feel the need to go all out anymore. steel bumper, winch, snorkel with breather extensions and maybe 4.88s are the only other things I'm going to do to mine. It already goes where I wheel it so those things are more a wishlist, except the snorkel and extensions I could use those now but I do get by as is.

It needed a frame replacement, somebody else will end up with a nice Jeep. It had been well maintained, no rust on the body. I weighed it believe me. I just couldn't see it being done very quickly, started looking for a Rubicon LJ... then well the vehicle I have always wanted came to be. Made the decision easy

I'd say up to 85k. The wife is buying a G Wagon so I told her my next car would be comparable, not that it would be even at that price, but that's what I'd be willing to pay for one. But I don't really care which V8 it has I'd take the 5.7 if that's what they offered. It's the only thing I'd trade mine in for.

I'm planning on keeping this one for awhile. I waited the last 4 years for it, so I can easily keep it until my oldest can drive and pass it down. If they do ever put a truck motor in one of these, I'll buy another one when my kiddos can drive this one.

I feel like a Gwagen would be a good vehicle for the Alaska terrain assuming it's 4wd.

I’m generally a guy who trades cars often, but I said for years that I’d be first in line if they ever produced another truck, and I was. I picked up my first JT 5/21/19, first one here in OK, and quickly knew I’d “never” sell it.

Last month, however, I couldn’t pass on a Hemi-swapped JT I found new on a lot in Myrtle Beach, and made the trade. Now I have literally everything I’d ever want in this platform. I’m building it out like I had the other one, and even better, and plan to have it forever, even when/if I decide to go another direction for my daily driver.

It’ll always be my adventure rig and the mods I make are in that vain.

Love your build, and I will probably seriously consider a 5.7 swap if they don't make it an option from factory before my lease is up.

My wife and I each drive JK's (her a 2012 JKU me a 2015 2-door). We bought the Gladiator for her to use as a daily driver as her 2012 is getting a little long in the tooth. Our JKs are pure rock crawlers. We wanted the Gladiator for road trips and overlanding, so we're being more conservative on the build. We want it to be capable, but not Moab capable. Most recently we took it (along with my 2-door) through Black Bear, Imogene, Engineer, Cinnamon, Poughkeepsie and it exceeded expectations. It does rub at full flex so our next upgrade is the American Adventure Labs front fender upgrade. We have a Sport S and the AAL upgrade splits the front fenders and gives a lot more room for clearance. It also gives the running lights an LED upgrade.

How Long - Minimum 10 years.
Mods - Mostly overlanding focused. Bed rack and rooftop tent are next on the agenda.

Lift - Currently a 2" spacer lift. Plan on a 3" Rock Krawler lift in the future.
Tires - 35" Milestar Patagonia's. I run them on two other JKs in the family and they've been great.

I could and the aftermarket conversions I've seen look very professionally done. But no matter how well done they are it would never be factory. I would only buy one that came that way. I'm patient, it may or may not be produced but I'm willing to wait a while to find out. Like I said if its in a few years I'd be buying it in addition to mine anyway so its not like I'm losing out on anything if its never released. If the Wrangler is made with the V8 and the Gladiator isn't I'd buy the Wrangler but not replace the Gladiator.

Still haven't received my Gladiator. Eagerly looking-forward to the day the Firecracker Red Rubicon diesel is built for me. But, wanted to chime in:

How Long: Plan is to keep 20 years +. For now, it's going to be my daily driver to/from work. At some point, when the miles on her get up around 150k, I'll maybe sideline her and make her an off-road only rig. Maybe I can be buried in it eventually.

Mods: I'm with you, gunning for longevity. Not planning on any major mods for at least 3-5 years. Yeah, lame. But I have a 45+ miles trip to work, one way, that I'll be doing 2x a week. I want to enjoy the diesel's better mileage for a bit. Besides, with a Rubicon, for most of what I want to do, she'll be ready out the gate. Eventually, I'll do a 3-4" lift with 35's, and maybe eventually 37's once she's on weekend duty. :) Main mods it'll see early will be a truck cap, winch, nav gear. It will never have a rooftop tent (1. I don't like them. 2. Extra weight up high is... not desirable. 3. Where else would I put the kayak?)

Plan is to make this my "expedition" vehicle for a long time to come. I've been waiting for this vehicle for a long time...
