Hurricane I6 CRATE MOTOR announced

I recall seeing something on here in the last month or two about how the Hurricane is too long for the Gladiator/Wrangler platforms. It was made for the Cherokee/Wagoneer platforms. To fit it physically would require lengthening of the engine bay or a pushback of the firewall, neither of which are small tasks, let alone finding suitable mount locations after that.

I'm going to see if I can find that article. I would love to be wrong.

As far as i know there was only postulating if it would fit or not. The hurricane length is ~ 9 inches larger than the pentastar which puts it at nearly the exact same length as the hemi 6.4. It'll be tight, but i do believe it will fit with out extensive modifications (or at least dissimilar mods to fitting a hemi)

They fit an I6 in the Quadratec YJL 30th anniversary build - which I thought the old I6 was longer than the Hurricane I6…

Most sources point to the I6 replacing the Hemi, not the Pentastar. You could be waiting for something that never comes.

Also, your 2020 Sport already has the 3.6. What are you going to "repower" it to? Another 3.6?

Have not seen one of those in decades. Last time was in my buddy's dragster with a injected Hemi.

If it has a 6.4 Hemi bolt patterned block Quicktime performance has the scatter shield. RM8077. Then slap a Tremec magnum 6 speed with a mid shifter behind it.


TR 6060 4x4 Transmission

Silver sport transmissions has a 5 speed but I don't think it can handle the power of a boosted V8 irregardless of having a Cummins application on their site lol!
