Hello everyone!

I just got my first gladiator! It’s a white rubicon 2026.
I am trying to decide if I want a bed rack or a canopy, lately I’m leaning more towards a canopy. However I would like to be able to attach things to the sides of the canopy most of the ones I’ve found do not show that feature. Also load rating is important because I have an RTT. Also feel free to leave your favorite bed racks. Price wise I think I can be persuaded to spend a little money but if I can find something that I like and that is affordable that’d be awesome! I asked ChatGPT to generate a picture of my vision I’ll attach it so everyone knows what I’m going for.

Thanks!

A Alucab Canopy Camper allows you to mount on the sides but IMO its not a good idea. If you go on tight trails its one more item to get damaged plus added weight up high.

I have the OVS bed cap and it is pretty darned good. Not a lot I can complain about with it.

Having said that, if you’re looking for out of the cap mounting options I’d look towards Extrusion Overland at their full cap. They have extrusion all over the place for many many mounting points for darned near anything you’d like to mount integrated into the cap itself. OVS doesn’t have that so you’d have to do your own T-Track or similar.

If you're not against selling your current RTT, and depending on what you want to attach outside, Campone has the Unilift Combo. Their website should be live any day now, but orders can be placed by giving Rosen a call.

But I do agree with the above, things on the outside isn't always the best idea depending on where you're going. Between thefts and tight trails, I try to keep everything inside.

I just watched a video of a guy putting this on his Tacoma. They make one to fit the Gladiator.

If I was going the route of an all-in-one cap and RTT I'd look at this one. I like that it's aluminum. It's a bit pricey but it seems to have good features. It looks like you can mount stuff on the side openings.
That one looks super cool. I like the shade/rain shield.

I had Nuhouse Industries custom build an all aluminum, powder-coated with light kit, molle panels for Roto-paks, etc , awning brackets, and RTT mount bars, side-access panels. VF expensive, but I am happy with it. The Alu-Cab unit, already mentioned was one I had also considered.

Alucab canopy have good load ratings (just canopy, not camper ) Works great for RTT.
Fully welded seams, not bolt together (bolts come loose if using and flexing off road)

I started with a rack. Switched to canopy. Much happier now that gear is not covered in dust and mud and road grit.

If you want dust free inside order a tailgate seal and install a positive pressure vent (I think thats what its called)

To mount parts on exterior just drill holes, use a backing plate on the inside, and seal the holes / bolts with gasket maker.

We have an Alu-Cab Canopy we're really happy with.
When you said you could order a tailgate seal and to install a positive pressure vent, were these things you did? If so, what did you buy? Were they from Alu-Cab or a third party? When we bought our Alu-Cab the seller didn't offer these items.

With a rack like the RealTruck Go Rhino XRS Overland Xtreme Bed Rack, you have the freedom to attach multiple accessories and gear holders.

RTT up top, awning along the side, Rotopax containers, recovery straps- you name it, the options are there.
