I have had diesel Rams since 1996. However, the Cummins is far better than the 3.0 which continues to have bearing/crank failures. I think they are going to light engine oil for mpg and too little bearing clearance and stiffness for the forces on them, but tight clearances are needed with light oil. Also, driving range is not much if any better with the diesel, and maintenance, etc. costs are too high. Moreover, the attractiveness of the diesel has lessened with the strict emissions requirements.
