who state they chose a bronco over a gladiator due to IFS handling on the street
There is no reason for any real difference on good roads, highways, interstates, or city streets.
The ZJ and WJ pretty much demonstrate that.
I'll never understand why some believe that IFS is superior on the highway or city streets.
I'll keep up with them just fine, and probably even match maneuver-for-maneuver on city streets and county highways.
Rough roads, yeah, at heavy speeds, yeah....... but I've had such a combination of such vehicles over the years, I just don't see a huge difference if they are buying it as a DD and ordinary driving.
Ride, yeah, ride can be different. But has anyone compared a JLU Sahara to a Bronco on ordinary driving as far as handling, or even ride in certain circumstances?

On the highway, there's no difference. On smooth roads, no difference.
How about the turbocharged Jeep Cherokee in the Grassroots Motorsports "$2013 Challenge,". Did quite well.

But then the driving public has been dumbed down and want comfort and ease in everything.
Looking around here, most Broncos are just daily drivers. They only wanted the comfort of the Bronco.

I don't like judging books by their cover, but I wouldn't read anything wrangler related written by that book too seriously... skinny jeans and my chemical romance tour info, he might be my go to guy though.

And I hear they're going to get rid of body-on-frame and make them unibody construction. :)

Tree farmer now. Retired first responder.
I have my solid front and rear axle Jeeps and trucks. I am in my 60's and would be disappointed if Jeep, and even if Ford Super Duties went to IFS. Two of some of the last hold outs remaining with solid axle durability.

The only IFS And IRS I loved was the HMMWV with it's portals.

In a few years they may all be unibodies with electric motors at each wheel. Portal set up with automated 'lockers' and lift height control. Cameras with topo graphic analysis to adjust the vehicle lift height and wheel placement. Auto control for steering and finding the right line. A Nun or hair stylist that can't tell the difference btwn a 4wd and a sports car, will be able to drive thru the toughest trails anywhere, anytime.

It's a good time to be old. 4 Wheeling was a challenge at one time. That is ending with tech.

Hell, they will fly over everything someday in 2 and 4 person quad copters....

The Recon will be IFS, but if the Wrangler does it I'm sure it'll be an option for Mojave and upscale versions, but I'm sure they'll keep the Rubicon and Sport as is.

I think IFS for the Wrangler and Gladiator is somewhere on the horizon. I am surprised it didn't happen with the JK/JT. I am positive, Jeep will not produce IFS for some lower trim levels and Solid Axle for the Rubicon/Mojave. It will be all or nothing if it occurs. I am not a fan of IFS, but I think it is inevitable for the Wrangler/Gladiator. The only question is, when?

That would make them totally different vehicles. Suspension types can't be an option, or vary.
There's too much difference to offer one trim with IFS and another in the SAME MODEL in solid axle.
your crash testing, fuel ratings and a lot more will differ, including the frame itself. You'd have to build one frame for one type, and another for the other type.
Very impractical.
Why would Mojave be one and Rubicon the other?

Difference between raptor vs rocks crawling.
A lot of folks use the Mojave for rock crawling, too - but like the ride better. They'd be swinging a lot of folks away from Mojave.
There's a number of people who lift the Mojave, put on bigger tires, and head to the rocks.

But in any case, there's no way they'll have the same truck with different suspension and steering systems.
It would actually make them two very different trucks, instead of different "trim levels" (which is also a goofy term for it, as it's a heck of a lot more than "trim". )

That’s right. I don’t want to spill my mocha latte when I hit a shopping center speed bump.;)
One of my cars would jar your bones over that speed bump, the other may not make it over if the header collectors snag on it............

No mention of Gladiator but this Motortrend article states that Independent Front Suspension is coming to Wrangler in 2029. I’ve had and ruined all sorts of IFS setups and I’m not a fan for lifting and off-roading. This might be my last new Jeep. Thoughts???

Both of myJeeps will remain with solid front axles in 2029 and beyond. I wouldn´t even remotely be interested in anything else.
