My Falken Wildpeak AT tires are at 45k miles and have grown louder, to a point I’m not appreciating them—neither is the wife. I drive 98% on pavement, long drives. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good highway tire that is quiet and has good wet traction in a 33 or 35 for my 17x8.5 wheels?
You'll get a million answers here, but here's the ones I've used for a number of years on both my former TRDPro and now my JTR. It's great in the rain and snow/ice, lasts many miles and is quiet: Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrain 35X12.50 R17, only sold through Discount Tire. I found them to be better in rain and snow than Goodrich TA KOs, but many will disagree.

I'll second this...

I actually have an appointment at my local discount tire on Wednesday to get a new set put on my mojave. I had two sets of these on my previous truck, and I couldn't have been more pleased with them. First set I had put on, I was shocked driving home at how quiet they were on the highway.

They're kind of a sleeper tire that few seem to know about.

I've been running 35x12.50 Ultraterrains for about 45k miles and I'm very happy with them. Great performance and they are wearing excellent.

I have had the Ultraterrains for about 3000 miles and zero complaints so far, quieter than my previous M/Ts, cheaper than a lot of other offerings and did great during the winter here in Minnesota.

Good to hear it isn't just my predilection for these.

Thanks all who contributed to my question. I went with the Continental TerrainContact AT 285/70R17, based on a lot of research and the performance of the Continentals my wife’s JLU Sahara run. Quiet and smooth ride so far.

Plenty of tread left on the four 285/70R17 Falken Wildpeak AT tires I had removed at 44K miles. I also happen to have two more unused 285/70R17 Wildpeak AT, one from my spare never rotated in and another stored in my shed. I plan to sell all six tires and will post a thread in the marketplace in mid-July when I get back from a trip.
