The rear differential looked really low to me.

Man, I just can't understand this level of disdain for your fellow man. Wanting convenience doesn't make people stupid and lazy.Fixed it for you.![]()
That statement was recalled by the coast guard. That's why I included all the links. The Dutch coast guard said Thursday that the cause of the fire was unclear and that only about 25 of the vehicles on the ship were EVs, but in the audio of an emergency call released by Dutch broadcaster RTL, someone can be heard saying "the fire started in the battery of an electric car."
After two surgeries on my left knee, I had to stop driving manuals over thirty years ago. Automatic is a necessity for some.Man, I just can't understand this level of disdain for your fellow man. Wanting convenience doesn't make people stupid and lazy.
I get that. I'm currently recovering from #2 on my left knee. The only way I'll stop driving a clutch is when I can no longer physically engage the pedal. If that means when they finally replace it, so be it. But until then I'm gonna keep driving one. After two surgeries on my left knee, I had to stop driving manuals over thirty years ago. Automatic is a necessity for some.
Incorrect. That's true for non-EV batteries of certain types, but not EV batteries - or even hybrids, because the in-vehicle electronics handles this. And when driving, the electronics in the vehicle handle that part as well. You can't possibly over-charge them. They also charge the last 20% more slowly. You're getting a lot of bad or old information.
Wrong again. I know of no one who has had insurance go up due to owning an EV or charging station. My son, in FL, has a pure EV and a level 2 charger and I've got a 4xe with a level 2 charger. Insurance does NOT go up, nor should it. The only issue is that they may not cover the charging equipment - and they may make you secure the charger for safety reasons (well, DUH!!!)

And this BS about fires with EVs - fact is they are not more likely to burn - just that in the rare cases where they do, it's a big deal, makes the news and people who know no better post it on forums as if "here we go again, another EV catches fire!"

In other words, 0.3% of EVs catch fire compared to over 1% of ICE vehicles. So you are 3 times MORE likely to have a fire with an ICE vehicle! There you have it. Apples to apples - percentages compared.
Of every 100 cars, 1 ICE car will catch fire and not even one EV will catch fire.
So please get some facts, stop the fear-mongering and mis-information.

EVs = LESS likely to catch fire. If insurance companies won't raise your rates for having an EV, they obviously know the truth as if there was a bigger risk, you know which way your rates would go!
The batteries in EVs are often shielded, wrapped, to prevent fires from spreading. Newer is even better.
No one is forcing you to get rid of your current ICE vehicle. If you love your ICE vehicle so much you can keep it running with some maintenance effort. Example my 1977 Trans Am has managed to keep itself on the road after 46 years, and obviously more recent technology should be even easier to keep on the road. For those not on board with EVs, it is more akin to "forced down our throats" than "coming down the pike". California, for one, is already proposing banning new ICE vehicle sales, starting the phase out in 2026 and total ban on new sales in 2035. That is clearly "forced down our throats".
I don’t care if it’s better. When I’m off-roading in the middle of nowhere, I want RANGE.Just saw this video from TFL. With almost twice the HP of our gas version and it is literally a direct drop in I think this has a lot of promise…
https://www.reuters.com/business/au...h 20 (,undercutting gains from going electric.Like it's never happened with a gas vehicle?
Why would you say inevitable when it's shown (read that as PROVEN) that EVs are LESS likely to burst info flames.
You pick on rare incidents, and it wasn't even laid out the cause of the fire, and suddenly they'll all burst into flames.
I guess that Camaros and Mustangs and F150s need to be banned, too, as I've seen them frying along I80 and I35 here.
This is interesting argument but the 500 to 1 thing is disingenuous to say the least. With the number of gas/diesel compared to electric. lets look at that ratio to see if we're even talking about the same basket of apples.EXACTLY. It's like so many things - jump on it because it's an EV.. Like the Ford trucks that burned in one case - the source wasn't an EV - but they did burn.
People are bitchen' about 1 bus fire and the media jumps all over it (likely Fox) and yet there's this -

500 compared to 1.
Why the heck aren't people jumping up and down about this one -

A school bus fire every day???
Motorcoach fires only slightly less than daily?
But no one cares until it's an EV then it's all over the news and oh, those EVIL EVs!
Ya don't give a rip about your kids riding school buses where one burns daily, but let one that is battery powered ignite and suddenly - get them all off the road!
Your kids can burn - but man we gotta keep those electric buses off the roads!
Where's the outrage about daily school bus fires?
