Is the Gladiator at risk for cancellation?

I have been looking at that one, very similar to what I ordered. If that was close to me, I would just go buy it.

Buy it, I'll use it to tow my JT down to your place with my trailer, then unload my JT and hook the trailer up to mine and drive back home.

Only 4 in stock at our dealer and they are listed at MSRP - some "sale price". I bet no one bothers looking up the window sticker price LOL.
I checked, their "sale price" is MSRP.

And they are selling them. They had 2023s when I was there last fall - not any more. These appear to be doing ok in our area.

They have 15 non 4xe Wranglers, only 2 of those are 2023 model year.

They have 2 Gladiators listed (I'd have to check with my sales guy to see what the heck is up with that - normally that have about 10 of them, it's weird) The Gladiators listed are 2024. 3 weeks ago they had a couple of 23s left.
This is traditionally an MSRP dealership - you'd have an easier time kicking a field goal from 100 yards away than getting below their sticker price.

About 20 2023 Gladiators on my local lot with deals like this….

In other words, I'd imagine that some people could own, insure and license 2 vehicles for not a lot more than what one Gladiator might cost.

He's gonna be really upset to hear I keep basic coverage on a vehicle I don't drive anymore for comprehensive losses while parked and awaiting sale.... and that it costs marginally the same for 3 vehicles as it does for for two...

Really hard to judge what's good or bad for another person based on your own very restricted circumstances and point of view.

I totally agree. Trail bashing in a $40k truck I drove daily was totally irresponsible so I figured it would be better to buy the last generational year of an SUV that doesn't know the meaning of the word depreciation and a $3k toy to build for trails.

You act like people don't buy second vehicles for fun or did the word Toyota just trigger you that hard?

4Runners are at least $10k cheaper than Gladiators in my area. You can get a 2023 TRD Off Road premium down to about $40k.

Which is funny because here they're advertising $60k 2023 Rubicon/Mojave JTs for $45k with a dozen to choose from at just that dealer. Even cutting out the rarer discounts that's still >20%. There isn't a single 2023 4Runner ORP within 200 miles and deals on the few 4x4 SR5P in the area were so bad I just bought the 2024 for about $1k more.

At the time I ordered my JT, I had:
2018 Grand Cherokee (my wife's primary vehicle)
2004 WJ (my daily driver for the most part)
2011 Silverado
1982 SX4
1973 Javelin
1970 Javelin

Now down to:
2023 JLU Rubicon 4xe (my wife's primary vehicle)
2022 JT (has become my primary and daily driver)
1982 SX4 (value keeps going up. What depreciation??)
1973 Javelin (value has increased, but only because of my improvements and restorations for the most part)

It can still be a lot to keep up with.

My thing was time to keep up with it all, and where the @@#$ am I going to put everything?
Since the JT was a truck meant to replace a truck, the Chevy was sold (originally traded but ended up selling it to a Chevy dealer for a lot more).
I really really loved the WJ - but it needed some work and it was sitting out where mice could get into things, so it went.
I needed money to pay for the JT, so the 70 Javelin went (and covered almost half the cost of the JT)
Now everything is inside, and our vehicle insurance is higher.
Everyone has their reasons. Sometimes it won't make sense to others, sometimes it will, but does it really matter whether or not it does?

A lot of places will let you insure your toy Jeep as an off road vehicle/UTV/RV type of thing for super cheap. We even have a separate "off highway vehicle" registration that is like $12 if all you're doing is running trails.

Exactly right. The annual cost for the YJ is what we'll spend on a nice date night but it's not a wash because the lower insurance on the 4Runner is offset by the lack of depreciation and higher taxes.

But as you can imagine, with a statement like the first, it's not a concern. The joys of dual income, no kids, and typically living like you make half what you do so you can spend on fun.

The only reason they would cancel is if they thought it was taking too many of the JL sales to be worth it. More likely they scale back production to match demand. They have alot of Synergy with the JL which means for many parts they can order them in larger bulk and negotiate deals accordingly.

The biggest challenge for sales are interest rates and the fact they make too many of the high end trims that have exorbitant prices. They need more at the 40-50k range on lots.

You know you have a management problem when a dealer tells you I can sell you a 23 cheaper then this new 22 because Jeep isn’t giving me as many incentives on this 22

Not in the immediate future after cancellation.Had an Olds Alero, (yeah I'm that old) as well as a final edition Lancer Evolution. Both lost value once the cancellations were posted. The Evo today with 7500 miles is posted for $52K. New it was 40. Basically a break even due to inflation.
