One other thing.

Electrical problems are typically the most difficult for the average tech to solve. Most these days dont' know how to use a Fluke meter to work from the fuse box out checking for voltage and/or continuity to diagnose a problem.

I have a Jeep dealership less than 2 miles from my house. This dealership has been the source of all my dealership woes so I scheduled a Jeep waves oil change at a dealer 1/2 hour away. Much to my dismay it was recently bought out by the group that is by my house. I called last Thursday to schedule. I went in this morning and they told me I wasn't on the schedule. I showed them the text I received and they told me the computer must have kicked me out for some reason. Fine, but then they wouldn't honor the appointment I had made that was clearly shown by the text I received and said it would be about a 2 hour wait just to get it in. At this point a free oil change isn't worth the bad attitude I get from going to these jokers.

" But I took the time to work the problem logically and think things through. "
Skills that seem to be extremely rare these days. I would also bet my wallet had you let them change the module, they would have discovered the problem, put the module back on the shelf and laughed all the way to the bank. Even if you requested to save the old part, who is to say it was the one from YOUR vehicle.

Sounds a lot like the issues I had with my JL. After multiple failures they found that a frame rail had too sharp an edge from factory and it had chewed through a wire causing a simple short. Cleaned up the exposed wire and it was completely resolved. Likely not your issue, but putting it out there.
Had the exact same thing on a Jeep Commander. Driving down the road and it was like someone reached over and turned the key off. Did this at 3000 miles, they replaced the computer and then at 6000 miles or so exact same thing. They replaced the computer again and roughly 300 miles later a 3rd. time. That time I told them there is obviously something causing the computer to short and I wasn't taking it back if all they did was put in a new one. Turns out they found a wire cut due to a sharp spot on the frame. Fixed that and was good to go.

Only cost the dealer 3 computers.

Holy Sh_t, Batman! Sorry for your bad experiences. I've owned 5 jeeps, all have had problems...just like any other vehicle I've owned. "If it weren't for bad luck, you'd have no luck at all." Thought about going to church? Not right of me to make light of your situation. Hope everything works out as best it can and "happy trails to you," in whatever ride you acquire.

jeep sucks!!! Customer service sucks!!! Everything about jeep sucks. I have no idea how so many of you guys have owned so many of them. I’m 1 and done with jeep. Spend 50k plus on a vehicle to be let down. I never even got a change to take it off-roading and it still breaks. Been in 2 different dodge shops and still can’t figure out the issue. First dealership had it 15 days to give it back to me broke and 3 days later I take it to another dealership and it has been sitting there going on two weeks and no answer. Now that it’s been going on 30 days total in shop they are sending a Chrysler tech in Monday to look at it. I don’t even want it anymore I’m done and want to lemon it. Here in VA 30 days qualifies for lemon. I really hope anyone on the fence about buying a jeep product looks the other way and purchases something different
@JeepCares - Help a brother!!

I wouldn't trust a dealership with an oil change anyway.....

I finally had enough. Went to dealer and talked to them to be lied to some more. Offered to drive truck around so I could get it duplicate. I have contacted my state attorney general and filled a claim with ncds usa
This is another problem with the flat rate system. The dreaded "Tech could not duplicate".

When I have a problem with a noise or anything that isn't absolutely concrete, I insist that the service writer or service manager come for a ride with me. I have them confirm that a they heard/saw/felt what my complaint was.

If I am waiting for the car I will instruct the service writer to have the tech come get me if he has any trouble duplicating a problem.

If you're going the Lemon Law / litigation route, stop posting about it. Anything you say can and will be used against you (no joke).

I would like them to fix it, but I’ll do whatever helps to motivate them to actually work on it. Contact everyone to push them. I’m just sick of it just sitting there I can see it doesn’t move

Here to say that I hear your frustration with JEEP. The dealerships around me have poor customer service. The quotes for parts and service are always inflated, and the service manager will lie straight to your face, which is easy to debunk if you passed a high school auto shop class.

The simple fact of getting an oil change takes 4-8 hours, and appointments for oil changes are back logged by months. I live in a small apartment in the city, so I don't have the tools, and I lack time to work on my JTO. That's why I rely on service shops more.

My Jeep recently went through battery and sensor issues, I went to start it for work, and it was blinking and would not turn over. After AAA jumped it, it still had to have it towed to the dealer.

MY ONLY GRIPE with a jeep really is the price. Jeeps are meant to be rugged and built with the after-market industry in mind. They are competent, and I can take the damn room off, Which is AMAZING.

But for the price, Jeeps should be a bit more reliable and I wish Jeep corporate would be more involved with the way dealerships run. That's how I feel.
