I actually wish we could buy a version of the Wrangler / Gladiator that didn't have anything removable. I do like taking the top off a couple of times a year, but I'd give that up to have better sound proofing. It's my only vehicle, so it's what I take when I travel anywhere. 75 on the highways is LOUD inside this thing.Back in our YJ days…. We had the windshield down a few times, but only during offroading trips. I will note… we had a rollcage built behind the windshield and around the cab area.
Honestly? I wouldn’t care if the windshields didn’t go down. Even for offroading, you’re better off with more ‘roll cage / roll protection’ than the novelty of putting it down. However…..I’d be concerned about the overall re-engineering of the body and still allow the doors/tops to come off. Because NEVER EVER get rid of that (removing doors/top).
