This is just what the buyer of a $75,000 Jeep craves - a label with early 2000's Taco Bell vibes

Doesn't get any more XTREME than this:
Every 90s Commercial Ever (Uncensored) - YouTube

As for buying a vehicle that shares the same 'tude as a 90's Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon... no thanks. Now, if they wanted to make a Cowabunga Peformance edition, we could talk.

Makes no sense to me. Seems Stellantis can't get out of their own way.

They have a great nameplate in Trailhawk - yet, in the Grand Cherokee trim apparently they are limiting it to only the 4xe powered regular wheel base this year (dropping both 3.6 and 5.7 from the offering, without official announcement of bringing over the hurricane). Also, why the hell they are not even offering a Trailhawk version of the Grand Cherokee L - is beyond conventional wisdom.

In addition, for whatever reason, they made the Wagoneer its own 'sub-brand' and do not even offer a Trailhawk version (or anything even remotely similar) of that overly stylized, lip sticked, escalade wana-be, making it even less competitive with a Tahoe/Yukon/Expedition.

Jeep seemingly created and certainly embodied the very segment that Chevy and Ford are currently successfully infiltrating (lifestyle off-road/stock + SUVs), but instead of being the standard bearer, Jeep appears to be running from it towards what they perceive to be gr$$n$r pastures.

The SRT and Trackhawk versions were always niche, small volume offerings with bonkers Mopar propulsion barely jammed-in. I would like to think this is just a stupid rebrand of a more-or-less halo suv/truck, but given the current track record (no pun intended), I think we are more looking at a transition to a more mainstream and further watering down of the brand (think how Cadillac V and BMW M are are now really just blacked out badges and pretend performance).

Welp. Transition in progress from an affordable American brand with genuine off-road enthusiast offerings to a Land Rover / Range Rover poseur with an apparent desire to benchmark the wrangler to the pretentious export version of the gussied-up G Wagon.

Maybe Jeep is going to offer the angry eyes as a factory option. That would be extreme.
