Not sure but a lot of peeps driving Rubicon's are reporting less MPGs than the Max tows. I'm not sure if it's weight or what. For reference I have a Base Sport Max Tow so mine may be lighter than one that has power windows/locks and all the other extra creature comforts. Mine just a Base model. I normally average about 18.5-19 roughly and longer trips right at 21. I hoping to stay above 17 on 37's so I'm looking for the lightest option I can find. Honestly I may end up just buying the BFG KO2S since they are only 66lbs in a 37, they just measure a little smaller.
It’s not the power windows or creature comforts that add weight (at least in any significant amount), it’s the extra skid plates, lockers, sway bar disconnect, etc.

2021 Sort S Max Tow (max tow), stock wheels
I have only logged 1280 miles and 5 tanks.
But my hand-calculated by Fuely average is 16.4mpg
Best tank was mostly highway and I logged 19.3mpg.
I drive like an old man too.

How much extra weight do you reckon that adds, just curious.

Here was today from central VA to northern MD. Not bad for 37’s and 4.10’s. Hand calc was within 5% of displayed. Stock i was getting 18.5 on this route. Nearly a 5mpg improvement on the same route from premium fuel, intake, exhaust, and pulsar tune; despite going from stock 33’s to 37’s.

My Jeep must take after me... it loves gas like I like beer.

Round trip to Ohio and back.

what ever the speed limit was it how fast I was going.

Sport S/3.73’s/315-70-17 Cooper STT’s/Mopar lift/ Bumper & winch

Last year coming back from Ohio in my diesel canyon I filled up north of Bowling Green Kentucky and didn’t stop again until I was in Monroe, La.

I had to pee like you couldn’t believe. I NEVER have to worry about that with the JT, lol.

I could go +600 miles a tank.

when filled up with gas according to my miles to go before empty I’m under 300 in the JT

14mpg.... 35” Geolander MT’s 8 speed auto, small lift, 3.73’s. Has been recalibrated. 70% highway 30% city driving. I’m sure some of it deals with some additional idle time and winter fuel.

If I remember to on my off time I'll add up all my fuel used and figure out my average MPG for first year of driving mine. Since I have a log of all my fuel used since I got it. With the caveat on my speedometer/ odometer is slightly off (when speed set at 70 my actual speed is 69 mph) and my MPG will be knocked down some after a 500 plus mile trip towing a trailer on I-State... That dropped my MPG 😳 to the point my LJ would have been possible a better choice for that trip. I have got about the same MPG in past if not slightly better with it. 🤔

I drive to and from work everyday, and I speed. So my gas mileage is bad. Around 14mpg overall. It is not great, a bit worse than my last truck. That said, I love my Gladiator, and I tolerated my old truck the day I brought it home.

You may be getting 27% better fuel economy by running premium fuel, but your spending 28% more on fuel here in VA.

That combined with the cost of the intake, exhaust, and tune.... when would your break even point/ROI be?

Edit: just curious, what was the goal of the tune? Fuel economy?

power. If youre trying to spend money for economy’s sake, the money doesnt usually add up without looking long term.

i was paying for power, drivability, and the sister of economy: tank range. The economy money math doesnt add up; but increasing your tank range by 25% is nothing to turn away from.

A Mojave at 18.5 mpg is driving like a grandma, that’s why I’m confused at your post, or were those numbers when you were just taking it really easy ?

My 18.5 at stock -> 23.4 now are both using cruise control as much as possible and driving no more than 5mph over the limit and never more than 70. I dont generally drive very fast unless I have to.

the biggest gain came from the pulsar giving you a more efficient tune and giving pedal correction. The power from the tune, intake, and exhaust Keeps me in 8th gear a lot more than stock does.

So you were getting 18.5 with 37s and 4.10s? Or the full stock Mojave setup w 33s?
